dts question
*....er, um,...you guys should look at the date of the original post...the thread was originally posted more than four years ago in 2003. I'm sure the Tigerman has gotten his act together by now. Four years is a lifetime ago in audio/video.*
Projectors?
I use a Sharp XR-20X Projector. It throws an incredible image from 25 feet away onto a 240 inch diagonal screen. Very bright projector. You can buy them for around $800 at Fry's Electronics. Killer bang for buck projector. Plays 720p and 1080i.You...
Confusion about "high-end" racks
*...$30k for a rack??? I can't remember who it was that said it on this forum, but they said...."were all as crazy as we can afford to be"At some point, I have to take a step back and come to my senses.*
Will older films be produced on blu-ray or HD?

surround processor with a decent phono stage?

Confused... Projector or Plasma???????
Projector is the only way to fly. You will not be sorry. The larger screen area will blow you away. I don't care what anyone says, for movies bigger is always better...that's why folk buy tickets to go see them at at a theater.

ARC LS26 vs Ref 2 Mk 2
The Audio Research website states that the LS-26 out-performs the Ref2 Mk2.I had the Ref2 Mk2 for a couple of years and it was outstanding....you can't go wrong with it. I'm sure if you chose the LS26, you'd love it too. Both units are a win win s...
How many more years before cd's become passe?
David, I love my cd player. But, I am looking for a viable computer-based solution also. I have been reading the forums here for alternatives. Some sound very interesting. I am going to study the different offering over the next 12 months before I...

Mrtennis....if this thread holds no interest for you, you are certainly welcome to look elsewhere on Audiogon for something that you feel that is worth discussing.
How many more years before cd's become passe?
The audio cassette actuall eclipsed LP's first. It seems there will probably be no more than a 15 year lifespan for a dominant format from henceforth with the speed that technology is moving nowadays.
What companies, out of Business, did you LOVE???
Dokorder. I had a 10 inch reel to reel deck made by them. In college I was king of the hill, all of my buddies had cassette decks....I had the big Dokorder. Man I miss that deck.
Has anyone ever tried two center channel speakers?
Stacking won''t work because the speakers are too big and they are trapezoidal in shape. The trapezoidal shape when laid horizontally naturally points the drivers upwardard and outward. My screen goes all the way down to the floor and stacking the...
