Racks, equipment and footers
Ha, I see the stuff in parentheses in my post is messed up - hurrying to help my wife walk the dogs. I have not kept up on the EVP price increase since I haven’t been in the market for footers lately. I believe these were originally (and maybe st...
Racks, equipment and footers
I don’t disagree with the posted article but keep in mind Norm Varney has a company that sells decoupling type footers (AV RoomService Ltd.). Their footers are made from Owens Corning type acoustical boards (703/705 Acousticmac or sandwiched betwe...
EVS Music Purifiers - Amazed by how much improvement they make! Anyone else try them?
If any want to dive into the why and how of this topic a bit deeper, run through this thread and this thread and this review by 6moons.

why expensive streamers
I can use either s/pdif, AES/EBU, or USB into the DAC.  I could run USB directly from the streamer into the DAC, or I can run the USB from the streamer into the DDC where the signal is reclocked and then from there to the DAC by either s/pdif or A...
Pads or Spikes?
I agree with the decouple/pads approach suggested by others here and I have had good luck with damped springs, such as sold by Townshend.  If you want to try it without spending a lot you could consider an elastomer solution (basically another typ...
why expensive streamers
@andy2  So, if you connect your server to your streamer using an optical cable, and USB from the streamer to a DDC that reclocks, and then a short s/pdif or AES/EBU to the DAC, are the bases mostly covered?
Have a reflective Memorial Day.
Very well said, respect and deepest gratitude to all who have served.

why expensive streamers
Within the context of my digital music playback system, which involves using Roon to stream Tidal and Qobuz, and to play stored music files, my hierarchy of  differences I hear is: Server/Roon core: almost no differences heard between servers ...
why expensive streamers
Why are people spending 1000's on streamers? No idea, but I will be interested to learn why. I recently had to change out my server, and found that pretty much whatever server I used had virtually no impact on the sound of my system. But when ...
Time heals all wounds?
After reading the review link I posted, I understand why I kept and used them in various systems for over 40 years!  I now sort of want to get the 3140 serviced and find somewhere to use it.
New DAC issues
Can a DAC just be incredibly lean? Yup, it can, and some people will like it, but horses for courses. Buying high priced gear, with positive reviews, from a well-respected manufacturer is not a guarantee that you are going to like how it sound...
Time heals all wounds?
Is there a market for old/vintage NADs? (no, not those "old nads"!) Integrated amp with phono stage, power amp, and tuner, all from the way early days (early 80's), all work, and they could use a good home where they are appreciated.
High Pass Filter for Mains
@mashif - mine is already posted but the crossover frequency is maybe too low for you at 45 Hz.
