What makes One Music Server Sound Better than Another?
@ricred1 - No need to be sorry, the praise is deserved IMO.  The K41 would be my sweet spot based on how I am set up but I have watched these things over the past 10 years and the service life of these servers seems to be south of 5 years before t...
Are there any issues with connecting speaker wire in this manner?
What you suggest will work fine.  As considerations: Not a bad idea to eliminate the spade or banana interface between the wire and the binding post. You can achieve the same 11 awg result by: cutting the wires into the identical lengths y...
Speaker Cables : Moderate priced
Are these your current speaker cables? They have several desirable attributes such as the type of copper used, the gauge, and the dielectric material, i.e., 12AWG Long-Crystal Oxygen-Free Copper and PE dielectric. What do you expect to improve by ...
Why do we demand so much from our systems?
@dweller - Love it! 🤣🤣🤣 @hilde45 - Try good friends and alcohol, less expensive than stereo upgrades.
Why do we demand so much from our systems?
I had the same experience in college, also in the 70's. My system (Sansui, Phillips TT, and large Jensen 3-ways) gave me enjoyment every time I listened.  Unfortunately there were years between then and now where I probably read too many audiophil...
True 8 Gage banana plugs
Here you go - tellurium copper direct-plated with pure 24 carat gold, spec’ed to accept up to 7awg wire, which is one size larger than you need.

Indispensable Tool!
Have had the Ayre disc for many years and it is now ripped to my server. Track 7, Full Glide Tone, on repeat at very low volume works well for burning in new components. It is sort of the equivalent of warming up your car, many do it even though s...
Is more amp power always better...?
“Quality watts” is a catch-phrase, in that any manufacturer will tell you their amps provide quality watts. It is simply another way of saying expensive amps often sound better than inexpensive amps and, given their speakers, room, music, and list...
Looking for decent DAC with volume control
If you are interested in R2R DACs, at that price range for used you might consider the Cees Ruijtenberg designs, either Metrum Adagio or Sonnet Pasithea, or their less expensive siblings.  The two companies are now apparently under one roof under ...

Thank Heavens For The Internet World Used/ Pre-Owned High End Audio Market!!!!
@kennymacc - Your positivity is refreshing.  I agree, it opened an entire world up to not only equipment but knowledge that most of us had only seen small pieces of by visiting our local stereo shops.  As with everything, it has morphed into somet...
any isolation platform sleuths out there?
Here you go... This site should help. I filtered by units sold in the US. Keep in mind the "asking" price is the price that is listed.
Equipment sight but not sound.
Yup, been there, done that, and in most cases it was a huge mistake.   Alon speakers was the worst.  Totally wrong for my music, tastes, and partnering equipment.  Ayre CD player, preamp, and DAC, none of which had enough meat on the bones for me...
