Attn Vinyl lovers - what CD Player do you use? Rotel RC-1055 - like to load an listen non-stop for 5 hrs.
ARCAM vs ROTEL I auditioned both side-by-side at my dealer. My preference was the Rotel - more laid back in a way - not shrill. Plus the Arcam had some skipping issues and was a bit 'noisier'.
Current recordings on vinyl? Kenny Wayne Sheppard's "10 Days Out" will be released on Vinyl this march.
Getting into Vinyl... I prefer the Rega's over the Music Halls - just my opinion (English vs Czech made). For a few more dollars you could get a nice used Rega P3. Not saying the P1 is not a good starter table. I ordered a Thorens TD185 and befreo I even took it out of...
Rega p-5 power supply ubgrade I concur with all above. I just bought my P5, TTPSU & exact2 cartridge. My dealer highly recommended the PSU upgrade. Once I did the side-by-side I did not need anyone to suggest what to do. It is a $300 wel spent - almost puts it in the same ...
Rega upgrades/tweeks I, too, have the same Rega P5 setup with the TTPSU. Mt dealerer AND the USA distributor was very adamant about not 'tweaking' the Rega sound. Also, if you rewire it will void your warranty. I am quite happy with my stock sound.
The Quietest LP Cleaning Machines I have to add my 0.02. I have been using my own cleaning solution along with an Orbitrak2 and I have been very satified with the results. I, too, have been looking for a RCM but am satisfied with the Orbitrak results to date. This is not to say I ...
60 cycle hum I was told to move my TTPSU as far as possible from my P5 TT. The power cord from the PSU to the TT is about 4 ft. long which is how far they are apart. I first had my P5 sitting atop my amp - did not work; got feed back at med. volume. Now I have...
mm or mc cart Try the Exact2 Rega MM cartridge. I just got one for my P5 and it is a tremendous performer PLUS with Rega cartridge on a Rega TT you won't need to add spaers to you tonearm to get corret VTA.
Turntable Suggestions I just purchased, new, a Rega P5, Exact2 cartridge and TTPSU (external power supply) for $1650. This combo was Stereophiles analogue product of the year in 2005. I am very pleased with this set up. Can't argue with VPI, very nice table.

Rotel Power Conditioner I am curently using a RLC-1040, now for about 6 months. I am very happy with it. If your amp is A or A/B class you may want to plug directly into wall outlet. If you amp is class D (mine is a Rotel RB-1092) then you can plug directly into conditio...
Help on setting up Rega Planar 3 Rega's use a proprietary alignment tool which is available free online at vinylengine.com.
For the vinyl enthusiasts Houston has Vinal (not Vinyl) Edge on Veterans Memorial and Black Dog Records on Sheppard near Hwy 59.
Rega P9 specs Re: spacers My understanding is that the height is measured from the top of the cartridge (that sits againt the headshell) to the tip of the stylus. There are aftermarket VTA available that allow the arm to be adjsuted manually. Use of htese will void your Re... |
