any good mat for a rega p9? I have a P7 and have tried various mats. I have not tried the Herbies. I went back to the Rega felt mat. My biggest concern was getting a mat the same thickness as the felt mat due to VTA non-adjustment on the Rega.
hardwood floor and speaker On my speaker stands with spikes I use 1/8" thick felt disks under the spikes. Works well and my hardwoods love me for it. I have oak floors so they are pretty soft.
McIntosh C220 VS C2300 AB comparison I believe the C2300 is $6000 MSRP & the C220 is $4000 MSRP. I have a C2200, predicessor to the C220/C2300. You get a few more features with the C2300 vs C220 - on the fly phono cartridge impdence change, meters, to name a few. The line stages ...
Rega Saturn. Is it really a giant killer? Trade-up program now being offered by Rega - bring in any CDP, working or not and get 15% the Apollo and 25% off the Saturn.
help me choose a tube preamp mcintosh/b&w C2200 is my recommendation - McIntosh, of course.
Best amp match for Dynaudio Contour S3.4 under $2K For my Dynaudio 52SE/Sub20A combo I was using a Rotel RB-1092 amp. This mated very well with the Dyns - high current, high power. This Class D architecture impressed me for the $$. I recently have replaced my Rotel front end with McIntosh gear. It...
upgrade advice Update - I have upgrade to a McIntosh C2200 pre and MC252 amp. So far it has been a true upgrade; soundstage has widened, low-level lsiteining has improved, dynamics have exploded.
Rotel vs NAD I used a Rotel RC-1082/RB1092 combo (currently for sale) with Dynaudio 52SE and they mated very well. The Dyns are a 4 ohm load, too. I never thought the sound ws thin. My other system is a Rotel RC-1090/RB-1092 with B&W N804 and once again, a...
Phonostage & Cartridge Upgrade For Rega P5 I had a P5/TTPSU/Rega Exact prior to upgrading to my current P7/DV20X-H. I was pleased with the Exact cartridge and have heard the Exact2 is much better. I currently use a Graham Slee Era Gold V phono stage and am quite happy with it too. My pream...
Susan Tedeschi I like her, very talented, BUT I don't care for her latest LP. Too laid back for me. BTW, she plays a few cuts on her hubbies (Derek Trucks) new LP, 'Already Free'. That is a killer group of songs, highly recommended.Saw a documentary on Steely Da...
upgrade path from Dynaudio 52SE Yes, delayed for the most part until I can decide which path to take. I enjoy seperates but may contemplate a nice integrated - McIntosh, Classe', or Krell. I am currently reading Get Better Sound and am finding most of my problems may be the defa...
Rega P5 Upgrade:TTPSU,Platter Or Subplatter? Yes, I had the TTPSU and a Rega Exact2 cartidge on the arm. Cash is king during times of lean. I admit I got a superb deal.
Rega P5 Upgrade:TTPSU,Platter Or Subplatter? I, too, owned a P5 prior to my P7 - not a subtle difference betweent he two. I was flabergasted by the difference and i thought the P5 was a superb table to begin with. By adding the above listed 'upgrades' you will be close to the cost of a P7. I...
Rega P5 Upgrade:TTPSU,Platter Or Subplatter? I would say the improvements rank just like you have them listed. TTPSU - best improvement
Carts option for Rega P5 + RB700 arm I use a Dynavector DV20XH with my P7. Previously I used (and kept)an Exact cartridge with my P5. |
