Paradigm Persona series
Thanks again to both of you guys for responding. As far as my ultimate goal in a speaker would be, I would say the feeling of being there if it were live performers is the goal. I think that’s the case for a lot of us. I do like a lot of micro det...
Paradigm Persona series
Sorry, when I said Dynaudio I was thinking Dali. The Epicon 2 specifically. I have a call into my local Kef dealer to discuss availability and price for the Ref 1. I will also ask him if he can find out about a new Meta version. Thanks for the hea...
Paradigm Persona series
Thanks yyzsantabarbara for the very thorough response. Of all of the speakers you mentioned I think only the Kef and Persona 3F would be speakers I could consider to purchase new. All of the rest would have to be pre-owned to keep the price at 10k...
Paradigm Persona series
Thanks for responding. Actually the more I read about these the more I think it would be too risky to buy without listening. And to answer your question I don't think I have a way to audition them. This thread might be the one I read a few months ...
Paradigm Persona series
Curious if anyone who has had a chance to listen to the Persona B stand mount and also have listened to the Usher Dancer Mini-X DMD. In a small 9 x 12 listening room, how much better if any would the Persona likely be? Thanks in advance
What country builds the best audio equipment?
I know this is an ancient thread but I have to agree with desktopguy about a dozen posts up. The Violectric V281 that I purchased pre-owned here on the forum has been a game changer for me. I was looking for a top-notch preamp for my stereo room a...
Onkyo P-3000R gain adjustment?
extravaganza, that’s a great idea and I will take a look at it, however my issue is not exactly where I am on the dial. It’s more how a little bit of rotation goes from inaudible to a max volume I am able to use. Since my 9x12 listening room is th...
Onkyo P-3000R gain adjustment?
Extravaganza, I have heard people comment that this preamp can best preamps up to $10,000. At $9,995 for the ref 3 that's close enough. Actually I'm pretty sure there's no easily adjustable gain. I'm more thinking if you pop the top and maybe had ...
Onkyo P-3000R gain adjustment?
Thanks for the compliment. If only it had balanced inputs and outputs (in addition to the adjustable gain) it would likely be my end game preamp. Don’t know if I’ll ever use it but I heard it also has an amazing phono preamp
Will accidental max volume damage a speaker?
Thanks for all of the input. A change I made to my system after this happened has proven to be a really good one, so ironically I think my system sounds better now than it ever did. Seemingly proof that I lucked out. I checked and the RCA fixed ou...
Will accidental max volume damage a speaker?
Okay thanks. I just listened for a couple of hours and they seem just fine. I guess the question would be how loud is a direct line level input compared to a normal condition of maxing out the volume dial. Maybe my accident didn't really have them...
Schiit Freya plus. Is this an upgrade?
I'm considering the Freya+ to replace my Onkyo P-3000R preamp. The main reason is the Onkyo doesn't have balanced outputs. ATC that makes my amplifier highly recommends using balanced whenever possible. I emailed Schiit and they responded quickly ...
Better than Usher Dancer Mini-X DMD?
Appreciate the advice. I guess I thought a floor stander in that range would be overkill for my small room but it sounds like it wouldn't. I did almost buy a pair of pre-owned SCM19's a few years ago. Do you think they would have been better than ...
Better than Usher Dancer Mini-X DMD?
A very reasonable question that I’m not sure I have a defined answer. Over the years as I’ve bought better and better equipment and I listen to the songs I’ve been listening to for decades and I hear more detail and more things that I didn’t know ...
Better than Usher Dancer Mini-X DMD?
Until I can figure out how to post my photographs I should just say that right now my speakers are up against the 12 ft wall and my chair is along the opposite wall. I guess that you would call the crosswise configuration in my 12x9 room. If I rot...
