What are the advantages to a Class A amp & what are the trade offs?
jdl57 those amps are the nuts!  An other classic John Curl design. Back in the late 70s we had 8 of them driving the ML HQD system, one on each Quad, Harltey sub and Decca ribbon tweeter. 200 very expensive watts and boy was it impressive back the...
Speaker Break In...? Or listener “Break In”?
There are painfully few audio components, devices, wires etc that improve performance with use. A single wire is not directional in any way.Electrostatic speaker diaphragms are heated to shrink them tight and they do loosen up a little with use im...
I went from Class D to Luxman A/AB - And most of what you think is wrong
I joined the Audio Circle and asked a few questions. I like the philosophy of the company very much. Low overhead, straight forward well executed chassis. The 1500 watt, quadruple rail version of the Megaschino is $17,000/pr. Not cheap!  I still c...

I visited Cherry's web site yesterday alerted to this amp by another threat. I would love to hear a mono pair of the Megachinos. The web site is not very informative as to what type of sampling he is using PWM or PCM and he does not mention how fa...

Larrykell, you have to try San Fransisco Bay coffee. French Roast. Great stuff!.Hi George, I have to agree even if you like funny looking class A amps.but I do make my own cables:)
Amp Recommendations: 2 Ohm Stable, ~300+ watts, and small...
snapsc, you might be quit right and I certainly can't say as I have not listened to both amps together but unless you have you are making an assumption. I think you meant that they might not sound as good.Having said that I looked at Cherry's site...
Useful Idiots
This is turning into a Tim Burton movie.
Why According to some Turntable extremists Pitch Control and Direct Drive is Sacrilege?
Alex. They bought the EMT 950 because it ran backwards. It is still a crappy TT for audiophile use. I think you meant tastes. It is not a matter of taste. A good turntable should do nothing but spin records. No rumble, no wow or flutter and no sou...
Turntable isolation for bedroom floor
Elizabeth, that will just lower the frequency the floor bounces at. It will still bounce. You would have to change the resonance frequency of the tonearm/cartridge which still won't work.Infection, just go to home depot and get the heaviest wall b...

Oh come on raul. That is a piece of garbage:)

I am not sure how they will handle 2 ohms bridged but the Benchmark AHB2 is a tiny amp. You would need to get two of them and bridge them mono to get 300 watts. The QSC PLX1802 is a 300 watt/ch into 8 ohm tiny AB amp with a switching power supply....

Ignorance is bliss.

I can beat that! My wife glances at the electricity bill once a month:)
Magnepan 20.7 and Subs
Elizabeth, that bassiness you describe can be adjusted by moving the speakers away from the wall which in an attached condo might be a problem due to room. The bass that is annoying you is between 150 and 50 Hz. If you have a test record with freq...
