Okay - I'm looking at changing the 12ax7's - suggestions ?  will leave the power tubes alone for now .   I agree the way the Cronos is set up it's an uphill battle to try and get the EL34 sound

I’m going to leave it be for a week or so  hoping they have lots of hours in them  it was like finding a treasure chest a bunch of NOS tubes .  Maybe a good thing that sockets are so tight , discourages user from excess swapping  lol

Changed the GL out for a Telefiunken  yes it’s even better , midrange sweet , overall is smoother than GL. Seems like imaging is excellent    these tube sockets are pretty tight , little patience and wiggles needed

I’ll be trying other tubes for sure.  always looking for larger soundstage , and warm midrange these Gold Lions are a big step up from the JJs but I can hear that they are a little brighter
