TAD 150
FWIW, I was running a TAD-150 Signature with a McCormack DNA-125. I replaced the McCormack with the TAD-60 and I am very pleased. No bass loss and better midrange and detail.
Audio shops in Boston
Check out Audio Studio at 414 Harvard Avenue in Brookline, just outside of downtown Boston. Owned and operated by Mikhael Shabani, who also owns and designs Morel speakers.
Has everyone heard the Waif's?
The Waifs are great...just saw them here in Boston a couple of months ago. Definitely worth checking out, both on disc and live.
Review: Tube Audio Design TAD-60 Tube amp
I own the TAD-60 and TAD-150 Signature combo and I agree with the review. These are wonderful sounding pieces. They are also very well made made and I like the look. Highly recommended!!
RAM-Modded Lite DAC-Ah Review
The main reason I use a DAC is so I can keep a multi-player in my system. The transports I used with the DAC were a Rotel RCC 945 CD changer, Arcam Alpha MCD and RAM-modded Toshiba 6915 universal player. I evaluated the DAC mainly in two systems. ...

Hmm...so I can post what I posted if I call it a "review," but if I post my thoughts (and include the word "thoughts" in the subject line) about a product and ask if anyone else has experience with the product it is a "shill"? Very interesting.I e...

I "third" the VA Beethovens. They are very musical and sound great with a variety of music. They are somewhat placement-senstive, though, and like a fair amount of power.

Axiom M80 VS Vienna Acoustic Beethoven on CJ 11A
I have not heard the Axioms either, but I own a pair of VA Beethovens. I think they are wonderful speakers...the type you can listen to for days. I have experimented with a few different power sources and have had more success with SS amps over tu...

What makes a $20,000 cd player cost 20,000?
Would the answer to the original post change if the price was, say, $8,000? Still not an insignificant amount of money...
Does anyone do good protest music anymore?
I second the Steve Earle recommendation. His latest, "The Revolution Starts Now" is great stuff and right on target.
Ryan Adams and the Cardinals Performance DC
Glad to hear those shows were good. I saw him here in Boston last week the show was just ok. He seemed to lack focus and meandered quite a bit. What do you all thnk of the new CD? My Deadhead friends like it...
Lucinda Williams Fans?
I just remembered, she does "Changed the Locks" also. Tom Petty covered that one...anyone ever hear the Silos version?
