iPad "Remote" App for iTunes
The new Microsoft indeed. Sometimes it seems like a full time job just staying ahead of Apple's apparently evolving efforts to break its own software. Lovely. I've said before, the new corporate motto seems sometimes to be "If it aint broke, quick...
iPad "Remote" App for iTunes
Heh, iTunes. Since I have accrued some credit, seems also I deserve the blame… The new version of iTunes is definitely a pain in the ass. Still trying to dial much of it in as well. Far as I understand it, yes -- if you're getting the dreaded clou...
verity audio parsifal
I have both the aluminum and the granite for mine -- but the upgrade was done by a previous owner, so I have not bothered to compared them. I will say, however, that I replaced all of the sorbothane pucks (a total of 16, four on each side) that go...
Is it all in my head?
Probably not. Generally, in my opinion, I wouldn't expect to be able to significantly "improve" a well-designed integrated CDP by relegating it to transport duties and adding an off-board DAC. (I'm assuming that's what we're talking about?). Just ...
O.C.D. Speaker placement
Yes and yes (personally). I've ranted about placement before, and its's mission critical, far as I am concerned. But, unless your room is perfectly symmetrical, I wouldn't expect your optimum speaker placement to be either. I start with measuremen...
Best Rock Album in 2012
I keep coming back to the Lumineers as one of my favorites from 2012.
The best of the DACs
Edorr -- quite the opposite, don't think we disagree at all. (Well, not to nit pick, but bits very much are bits -- that's the fundamental nature of digital bits -- but how you move them about, clock them, address jitter, etc very much matters when...
The best of the DACs
Sounds to me like you've got it all dialed in just right. Nothing left but to kick back and enjoy. Cheers.
The best of the DACs
Oh, geeze. At the risk of over-simplifying, you of course use a DAC already. It’s right there in your CD player. The issue really comes down to what kind of transport you want to read the digital bits off of whatever medium you’re reading, and how...
iPad "Remote" App for iTunes
Personally, I like Bit Perfect on the Mac. It's super simple, sounds great, gives you a fair amount of control and customization behind the scenes, and is way less of a PITA than setting up an alternate player to iTunes as far as I am concerned. I...
Do you buy on ITunes store? If so, i need advice.
Stinkin' literalists, with their red books.... Commies, no doubt. (Cheers, thanks;)
Do you buy on ITunes store? If so, i need advice.
I think the short answers to your questions are: no, no, and no (in that order). A little more complicated: iTunes is not lossless. Converting a lossy file (any format) to a different format just gives you the same information in a different forma...
What to do with my Ipod tunes?
Really. Let me take the horrible liberty of making a couple of assumptions. You tell me where I go astray. First, when you (ahem) borrowed those "5k tunes" from the library, you plunked them in the laptop, iTunes did whatever it did on default set...
What is the best....?
...to see your enemies driven before you, and hear the lemantation of their women.
why did my iphone quit working on Wadia idock?
Think that's Apple's official new motto: "if it ain't broke -- quick, someone smash it. Smash."
