Which Wadia??
Macrojack, it's the other way around. Wadia doesn't make transport mechanisms. Teac does. Wadia uses Teac, not sure which though.
How much are you worth ?
My system turned out to be one of my better investments. I was fortunate to have participated in a biotech IPO about a year ago and invested 75% of the returns back into the market, bought the requisite sports car (10%), etc (5%) and bought a real...
Washington Post Article
Albert Porter, will you be inviting the reporter back to the big party?
'L' Shaped Listening Rooms. What works?
Spend $50 and get CARA, the room acoustic modeling software (Do a search here on Agon for more info). I have been playing with it for a couple of weeks, and it has REALLY helped me with speaker placement in my odd shaped room. Although my previous...
Advice on Phono Cables for VPI TT?
As with Findoc, my system is all Tube: BAT VKP5, BAT VK50SE, BAT75SE. I did make a close comparison and had the Kimber Copper/Silver 1020s in the system for several months and MUCH preferred the 1030s. The improvement was immediately apparent from...
Advice on Phono Cables for VPI TT?
I agree with Findoc, silver is the way to go. I'm currently using Kimber KS-1030 Silver ICs with great success on my Aries/JMW12 combo.
Tact RCS 2.0 with upsampler
Yes, I believe it can currently do 96/20 and will soon be able to do 192/24. I suspect that it may be more accurate with higher res data, but am not sure.
Frequency ranges
Drubin, Talon's Khorus Super-Tweeter goes 13kHz-35kHz. Not too far. However, I'm finding that there they have a slightly fatiguing hump at about 29kHz that I can only hear with certain CDs ;~>
Cables that cost more than the speakers?
Another question: Would most of you agree that better performance would likely be had in an otherwise identical system with ~$17,000 speakers and ~$3,000 cable rather than $8000 speaker and $12,000 cable. I know it always depends on the specific s...
Advice- wiring for dedicated sound room
Glen, you state that you are a professional electrician, yet you also state that you "Then ground to a seperate ground rod independent of your service ground" every time. You had better hope your local inspector doesn't read this as this is not co...
PS Audio built into room circuit?
Hi Bill, I'd bet that PS Audio or other manufacturers would be happy to sell you a run of their power cord (e.g. Lab Cable or Mini Lab Cable) in unterminated form that you could run in the walls. The 1" diameter Lab cable may ruin the structural i...
vinyl
Having recently made the jump into vinyl, I can tell you that it is not as inexpensive as some would have you believe. Everybody keeps talking about these $1 LPs. I say BS. There is A LOT of crap out there for $1, but expect to pay $25-$150/LP for...
Room correction in high-end system???
There are enough positive testimonials here that I am close to taking the plunge. I plan on keeping my current SF Transport 3 and Processor 3. However, I will be upgrading to 96/24 upsampling when the Processor 3 upgrade comes out next month. Does...
Room correction in high-end system???
Audioguy123,What external ADC are you using? I had a Wadia 160 for a while, but sold it along with my Wadia 27ix.
