tube DAC noise
No noise from my MHDT Lab Pagoda using the stock tube or its replacement.
Does a Tube Dac make sense?
A Tube DAC softens the sound. A sound that would not need to be softened if the DAC was able to avoid certain digital distortions. Tubes are a band aid....Softens? Band Aid? You've obviously not heard a well-executed tube DAC. My Pagoda is anythin...
Favorite obsolete formats.....
MiniDisc for me too.
I am getting some new tubes for my amp, and I want to do a 24-hour burn in. How?
Burning in while listening also adds to your experience. The process can be quite subtle, very obvious, or something in between and you gain more understanding hearing the changes.
Does a Tube Dac make sense?
@dletch2 .. how is it any different with a tube-free DAC? Every DAC has one signature sound unless it includes different filter options (tone controls). I've heard quite a few DACs over the years and each one sounds unique. Neutral? Free from dist...

If high end audio was $10 and match box sized
Only if it had a couple of tubes to roll resulting in my own personal perfect sound, which is better than your perfect sound.  ;-)
Best way to wipe off the dust cleaning the gear
IIRC, Steve Deckert of Decware recommends a 2" (50 mm) soft natural bristle paint brush for his components. That and a Swiffer is what I use, works great.

One Streamer Wired to Two Systems?
I just did similar with my Node 2 .. coax out to the DAC in my tube-based system and Toslink out to my solid-state integrated in the same rack. Works great. No sound quality hit at all.
Radio Paradise to Stream MQA to Blue OS
I've been a fan of Radio Paradise for many years. I don't want to ruffle any feathers here but being firmly in the anti-MQA camp I found this disappointing. I spoke with Bill last week (via email) about this and he was gracious, as usual. He expla...

MHDT Istanbul vs Orchid
Nice post @ccheung. I had a good long look at both before ordering the Pagoda. Ultimately, the Pagoda’s ability to output 24/192 without decimation was the deciding factor for me. If I were in need of another DAC I wouldn’t hesitate making another...
