Experience with Tannoy Westminster Royal Gold Reference hddg OP14 posts10-14-2016 7:23pmI guess the likes of FM Acoustics and other very good AB amps are the exception to the rule, but again the prices are stratospheric. I heard the best of Ayre, very good amps but does not beat the Coincident Dragon M...
Experience with Tannoy Westminster Royal Gold Reference Hddg, the Tannoys are highly efficient speakers aren’t they? If you’re looking for SS amps which sound musical & tube-like, i’d check out Vitus Audio Signature series and Pass XS series. Dartzeel also make some nice gear.
Experience with Tannoy Westminster Royal Gold Reference From the reviews i’ve read, the holy grail to match with these speakers is the Kondo SET mono blocks if you have the coin. Otherwise Audio Note make some very nice mono’s at a more approachable price. For a front end, I really like the Kronos Spar...
Gryphon Vitus Gamut @eps , from all i've read, the SS-103 retains and all the musicality of the SS-102, but is faster, more resolving, powerful & adaptable given the new switchable modes. Mike Bovaird on Audioshark has been raving about the SS-103, as well as Bob...
Gryphon Vitus Gamut Fyi, the latest Vitus SS-103 is closer to the Masterpiece Series MP-S201. That is it is faster, more powerful, more adaptable & a bit more neutral compared to the SS-102. That amp would be worth auditioning if you can find a Dealer.
Gryphon Vitus Gamut inna OP2,439 posts08-31-2016 1:33pmMelbguy1, how do Gryphon and Vitus compare in terms of rhythm, dynamics and bass? I’ve only heard the original Antileon, and that was only in one listening session, so i’m probably not the best person to ask. I...
The most transparent speaker cable jafant3,833 posts08-25-2016 9:54ambugman03-I like Stage III Concepts for power cords (PC) only. The best that I have ever auditioned (even better than Transparent OPUS). Interesting feedback Jafant. I know Fred Crowder who loves the Jorma Prime ...
Gryphon Vitus Gamut I can't comment on Gamut as I haven't heard them, though I know their gear to be well engineered and fine sounding. Vitus to me is in the musical camp. Their Signature Series is slightly on the warm side, well controlled, resolving, yet smooth acr...
Which integrated amp would you pick? @gdhal , there is a Vitus RI-100 on the ’Gon right now with 50hrs. The guy is asking $8k, but you could probably bang that down to $7.5k. Still a stretch, but that would be a really nice upgrade.
Speaker shipping help George's advice is wise as always. Double boxed custom or factory cartons are fine as long as they're taped down with preferably metal tape onto a pallet with some protective wrap around the box to protect them, and obviously plenty of packing mat...
Which integrated amp would you pick? Neither, i'd go for a Vitus RI-100 ;)
Magico and Symposium I was thinking about possible options to improve the vibration control on my new Magico S5 Mk2 speakers. I initially thought I might be able to order the new MPods made for the new M3, however they’re only offered in a set with the (superfluous) t...
Selling Damaged Magicos @Georgelofi, great advice.
Raidho just announced new D .1 models mmporsche, that’s good to hear. I couldn’t make out much from the photo, but i’ll keep an open mind. No argument with thier sound. I can’t say I’m a fan however of thier pricing model. For me, they are way over-priced & thier 2nd hand value ge...
What speakers do you recommend? I'm considering B&W 804 D3 or Sonus Faber Olympica II Izuo, I was thinking another great integrated amp which would pair well with all the above speakers is the Gryphon Diablo 300. I suspect the Gryphon would pip the RI-100 in fact, though it often comes down to what gear you have access to. Cheers. |
