Clueless on Bi-Wiring Hunter go to: http://www.vandersteen.com/pages/Answr7.htm for complete analysis and discussion of bi-wiring. I have bi-wire set-up and agree with all points made at Vandersteen website regarding benefits of bi-wiring. I have two systems and at tim...
If you could remaster three cd's... Speaking of U2, Joshua Tree CD has amazingly poor sound quality for a 1987 CD. U2 "best of 1980-1990" has remastered versions of best songs from "joshua tree" that is an improvement buy still not great. Now that I think about it, we need to remast...
Anyone heard the Shunyata Hydra yet?(nt) Galen Carol has review at his site, http://www.gcaudio.com/gcafeature.html, he is extremely positive on this product but he also sells it so that is to be expected. I want to know how many outlets unit has and will Hydra/Sidewinder sound the same ...
MIT Tube Cables and Solid State Amps? Just to clear up some confusion the MIT cables sold by Audio Advisor are older models that are not matched cables. New "terminator" series are not matched cables. New "high end" and "reference" series speaker cables have output matched interfaces ...
Best new amp under $2k? It really depends on your other equipment which one will work for you. Sam Tellig did a good job of expalining the differences, while he prefers the Musical Fidelity A3CR amp, he explains why others may like the McCormack DNA 125 or Belles Hot Rod...
MIT Tube Cables and Solid State Amps? In the past various MIT speaker cable designs were made to work with both SS and tube. Newest designs however are "specifically" designed in two models, one for SS and one for tube. I agree with MIT advice and do not use for other than equipment i...
How Much Do You Need to Spend on a PC? I own the Shunyata SideWinder at $200 used, flexible cable that is an overacheiver. Also Synergistic Research AC master coupler is larger, stiffer cable good for amps, $180 used. I do not own one, but Custom House Model 11 from Cable Co are very h...
The Beatles I am not a beatles fan, but they progressed a lot during their careers. Early albums were collections of radio friendly pop songs, future muzak material. They took big step forward during Sgt Pepper/White/Abbey Rd album sessions, doing conceptiona...
Acoustic Zen Silver Reference IC RMML, I have no doubt that Dr Lee has surpassed his designs at Harmonic Tech, but price at least for me is out of reach. Your system is excellent, and higher price level so AZ makes sense for you. I expect Clement Perry will soon have article on A...
Best Digital Cable around $100 used Illumination D60 and Harmonic Tech Cyber Platinum are both very good but run @$150 used. For under $100 new I would go with Harmonic Tech Cyber Copper digital cable, or stretch the budget for one of the above used.
Sarah Brightman Concert Saw a few minutes of her "la luna" concert on public television sound muted, talk about a prima donna, my impression of just watching her was she "thinks" she is a superstar diva..........I may be way off base, just the impression she gives off
Cheap bi-wiring? Snook gives great advice, audition double runs of cable from cable company, and do direct comparison of single wire and bi-wire. Most high end speakers are designed for bi-wire with special crossover design for biwiring, some are not and use more ...
Acoustic Zen Silver Reference IC Just went to website given by Dolphin, not surprisingly the cables look very similar to Harmonic tech, both in shape, size, and connectors. I own several HT cables and always thought the locking RCA connectors were inferior to locking WBT models, ...
Acoustic Zen Silver Reference IC All reviews have been very positive for AZ cables, but price range is very high, even if bought used. This leads me to think that soon AZ line will be expanded to lower price models, as the market for higher end cables is very small. Perhaps you c...
