I am venturing into unfamiliar territory.
I have heard KDS in-walls used as rears and thought they sounded very nice. Paradigm also makes an inwall speaker, and although I have not heard them, I can say what Paradigm speakers I have heard makes me confident their inwalls are worth a listen.
good 5 channel amp for rears only
Elevick has a good point. You want to match your front 3 speakers as best as possible or it will sound off.
Seperates or Receiver on a Budget
Be aware of subjective terms and phrases. It’s your money and you should spend it wisely. Find a local hi-fi shop and go listen to high end separates and some high end receivers. I think you'll agree phrases like "this blows that away" are bogus i...
Seperates or Receiver on a Budget
Well, I'll be the devil's advocate for this thread. With the importance of wire (interconnects specifically) I think your budget would be spread pretty thin if you bought separates. I don't think you should so easily dismiss a good receiver (Maran...
Leaving HT for 2 channel-Good or Not?
I dropped 5.1 for 2 ch and have no regrets. Movies still have a dynamic impact as well as pretty good surround effects via soundstage and imaging. I'll probably buy a nice reciever some day for 5.1 and use HT pass through on my preamp.
Norah Jones on Bluenote??
Whats the big deal?
Hours sitting around just listening to music?
If I lived alone I'd listen more, but I try to get 3 nights of 1-2 hours of listening in with some Cabo Wabo n' Kahlua (or Sailor Jerry). My girlfriend is getting more and more involved with this stuff and is always a good source of unbiased opini...
Which subwoofer should I buy? Help Please
I've heard good things about the Knight as well. That may be the way to go, but at $550 price range, Paradigm deserves a look. They are pretty solid subs for music and theater.
REL sub setup
Correct me if I'm wrong Jrwr7, but those independant knobs allow you to set the phase control for the different inputs independently, so when it auto switches inputs, the phase is customized for that input; you may want the phase setting different...
REL sub setup
Thanks hrcapers-Have you guys heard or have any opinions on REL's q201e sub vs the Storm sub? There is a lot of positive info about the Storm but not too much on the 201.m-
REL sub setup
Thanks guys, that’s what I needed to know. One more question though; it's a bad idea to daisy chain speakers, or run multiple speakers off one amp (I know if you calculate impedance and make sure your not putting too much of a load on the amp it w...
Speaker wire, help my laid back sound??
Gotta agree with Gunbei. I owned the 100s and would never describe them as you have. Good luck-m-
Stuck in a Rut
I grew up on Floyd, Zep, Yes, CSNY...I know this phrase gets thrown around a lot, but "you won't be disappointed" in David Gray and Jack Johnson.By the way Ben, I pulled some Nick Drake and really like him. God call.
Need help on HT speaker system
Paradigm speakers all the way. You will also need good interconnects and speaker wire, and there are too many options for 1 person to name, but your Paradigm dealer can help. I'd recommend you stick with their reference line for the front 3 speake...
Review of Michael Wolff Carbon Ribbon Source power
nice review...thanks for being objective; that's pretty rare in reviewing one's own stuff. I'd also like to see pics of your power set up. Thanks.m-
