Music server quality.
Ckorody:Thanks for your excellent insights and info. I'm intrigued, to say the very least. The ultimate (obviously) thing would be a UNIVERSAL server that rivals or exceeds the highest quality of each and every information storage medium (i.e. sto...
Review: Intuitive Design/Pitcher Sound Labs Summit PSL 624 Speaker
Nap45,One other thing: Apparently the only difference between the original Summits and the Delta Summits is the crossover. In the Delta Summits, the crossover is even better, and uses technology based on that in the MUCH more expensive Denali (whi...
Music server quality.
Thanks, Thewebgeek and Eharlson. The reason I ask is that there is really no truly high end CD changer, although I think the Onkyo Integra DPC 8.5 six disc universal player that I have in my system is certainly decent. It benefits enormously from t...
Review: Intuitive Design/Pitcher Sound Labs Summit PSL 624 Speaker
As far as I know, the Delta Summit is an upgraded version of the original Summit. Last time I checked, these sold for 5,000 dollars for the speakers as opposed to 3,500 dollars for the original version. Both use the Path Stand System, which is hig...
Boston's Brad Delp passed away...sad news
Sad news indeed. His is the immortal voice for one of the best rock albums of all time, the original Boston album. Still wonderful today. He'll be missed, but remembered with fond and nostalgic gratitude.
Industrial Strength Disc Polishing
I agree with Elizabeth and Swampwalker, and I've seen this exact same setup at a CD trading store, when the clerk demonstrated the machine in the back. Exactly as described above.
Transparency: What speakers have it in spades?
All of these are very transparent, but I haven't personally auditioned any of them:Transparent speaker(s) #1Transparent speaker #2Transparent speaker #3Transparent speaker #4
Getting rid of harsh, shrill treble
You might want to consider Dakiom Feedback Stabilizers. {Each of the above words links to a different Audiogon review.}
Review: Dakiom R203 Tweak
"I felt that the force of the music was being held back ever so slightly which led me to believe that a break-in period was necessary. I continued to listen to music, on LP, for about 2 hours per day over a 2 week period with the R203 in place. On...
Review: Dakiom HA203 Tweak
It's good to see another review on Dakiom products by a satisfied audiophile. I posted a similar review a couple years ago on Audiogon. I have since upgraded--partially--to the second generation units, and haven't bothered to do A/B testing (with...
What headphone amp to buy-Sennheiser HD 600?
Now that the headphone system is up and running (I still haven't worked up the courage to change the tubes on the SRM-T1), it sounds excellent. It could still sound better, in my opinion. So.........what do you guys think of the ED-1 "diffuse fiel...
What headphone amp to buy-Sennheiser HD 600?
Although the headphones look beautiful, I was mistaken that they had been refitted with the original diaphragms that were used with the Lambda Pro Signature earspeakers. That diaphragm was discontinued several years ago and is no longer available....
Would this fix a scratched CD?
Thanks for all of the responses so far. I probably won't buy the thing for the reasons listed above, unless the urge to experiment gets the better of me. Swampwalker: Can you post a link to the product you use? The advanced Google search didn't na...
Would this fix a scratched CD?
p.s. I'm serious here. I honestly wonder whether this would be easier and/or more effective than some of the CD repair kits and machines. It would seem that actually filling in the defect is an option potentially superior to using a CD repair mach...
Best speakers for off-axis listening
FWIW---> ONE (of the many) fine attributes of the Intuitive Design Summits is a wiiiiddde sweet spot, with at least some preservation of central imaging even when seated outside of both speakers (yes, really).
