Audia flight protection mode
Dinster, glad to hear that your AF is back and running great. I also purchased mine used and worry about repairs in the future if needed. So far it sounds great. I leave it in standby mode so I don't have to reach around the back of the power supp...
SDS or phono stage
I had a Classic 1 with a Zepher mk1. When I purchased the SDS, I thought it improved the sound quality enough to keep it. I notice the improvement more with the power conditioning that it does than the speed control. I do have the SDS plugged into...
XLR or RCA?
Elegal, I found more of a difference using an upgraded cable than between using XLR vs RCA connections. Using the same upgraded cable into my C2300, I preferred the XLR. As you know if you are using the phono stage on the C2300, you need to use RCA
Best mm cart for VPI scout/jmv-9 memorial arm
I had a Sound Smith Zepher on my VPI Classic TT. It was made for VPI unipivot arms. It was even labeled VPI on the cartridge. I thought it sounded great.
B&W 803d and Luxman L-505ux
I used to own the 803d's a few years ago and liked them a lot. I thought they sounded good with my Pioneer M91, 200 watts per channel, better with my McIntosh MC352, still better with two MC352's biamped and best with 2 MC601 monos. I found for me...
Audioquest vs Acoustic Zen
AZ Absolute Copper interconnect fan here. Tried a pair on my CDP and then replaced all of my interconnects with them. I have Hologram II speaker cables going to my AZ Crescendo's. Magic with keeping everything AZ.
Marantz TT 15 vs Clearaudio Concept
I also owned the Marantz TT15 for about 6-12 months. This table got me back into vinyl in a big way. I never had any problems with it. I thought it sounded better than my CD player. It just made me want to get more into analog. I changed to a VPI ...
Hum with VPI SDS Classic 3
I had some hum with my SDS and Classic 1. The SDS was to close to the TT. When I moved the SDS further away from the TT the hum went away.
McIntosh C2300 phono input
Goldorak, I have a C2300 going into my MC601's and like what I hear. I did switch the stock tubes in the line and phono stage and think it is an improvement. I just purchased an Audia Flight phono stage and will be comparing it with the C2300's ph...
Amp Recommendations for AZ Crescendo
I am using SS McIntosh MC601 mono's with my Crescendo's. I think they sound great. When I listened to the Crescendo's at Acoustic Zen in San Diego, Robert Lee had them hooked up with a pair of SS Red Dragon monos. He had them set up in a very larg...
Zen Crescendo or 5a...will they work in my room?
Soundqcar, I have Crescendo's in my room which is 22x15 with a sloped 9' to 17' ceiling. I think it sounds fantastic. I have never heard the Vandersteen's. The Crescendo's put out excellent bass, I even got rid of my 2 JL F113's and am just using ...
Review: Acoustic Zen Matrix II and Hologram Interconnect
I purchased a pair of AZ Absolute Copper interconnects on Mr. Lee's recommendation. I was so impressed with them that I replaced all of my interconnects with them. Stopping by Mr. Lee's facility in San Diego and listening to his Crescendo speakers...
Acoustic Zen Crescendo
Mcondon, my Crescendo's are in my 15' x 22' family room and sound great. They replaced my PMC EB1i's that were similar sized 3 way transmission line speakers. I love these Crescendo's. I am in Albany, NY if you are ever in the area.
Review: Acoustic Zen Absolute Copper Interconnect
Dogmcd and Darkj, I can't begin to describe the AZ Absolute Copper interconnects as well as you do, but I do agree with you. I was using another high end interconnect and needed a longer one. I have been using AZ Satori Shotgun's and Hologram II's...
B&W 803D - Best amplifiers to drive them
Kelpie, I owned the 803d for about 2 years and loved them. They do like lots of power though. I originally had a McIntosh MC352 connected to them and it sounded great. I bought a second MC352 and biamped them and they sounded even better. I finall...
