Audioengine A5+
One thing that is unique to the A5+ speakers is the 25mm thick cabinets. That's 1 inch thick.
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
The recording is indeed fantastic and the tempo is as advertised, too slow on the 2nd followed by too fast on the 3rd. It takes a significant change for me to notice and this was significant. The bass is fantastic proving the value of my subwoofer ...
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
It's out for delivery today so hopefully that means it'll get delivered. We've had several things not show up until the 2nd day after being out for delivery.I was listening to a little organ music last night and I really like the sound when the su...
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
Sounds (pun?) like it should be a fun listening experience.
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
The SACD player arrived so now I'm just waiting for the SACD itself to see how it sounds.
I'm studying MIT cables
I'll admit to being a speaker cable skeptic, but at most the "box" is applying some type of filter to "color" the sound in a particular way (i.e. think Flowmaster mufflers where they all have a characteristic sound). In theory, no cable is the best...
Greatest Composers of All Time
Charles1dad - I highly recommend Jacques Loussier's The Four Seasons and the Brandenburgs albums over the Bach one that I have. His Chopin Nocturnes was by far my least favorite as it sounds pretty much all the same for something like 24 songs. I ...
Greatest Composers of All Time
Charles1dad - are you familiar with Jacques Loussier? Classical music in jazz.
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
I just purchased the version recommended by Kr4.JefferyBehr - How many channels is the recording you recommended? I can't seem to find anything in my searches.I really would like one that has a .1 channel.
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
My other version is the Sony Essential Classics that includes Carnival of the Animals. I grew up listening to this one but prefer the Munching version on Living Stereo SACD.
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
Kr4 - The Munch is fantastic, but is only a three channel recording. I love it for my stereo Pioneer Elite SACD player.I am looking at getting the Sony BDP-S5100 that will output the multi-channel SACD in DSD. Can you confirm that my Integra 50.1 ...
Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3 "Organ" surround?
How does one choose? I already have two versions so I guess why not have four? What other recordings have you compared it to?My current favorite is the Living Stereo - Boston Symphony / Charles Munch SACD.I can't find a link to the other one, but ...
Audioengine A5+
I have the A5+ speakers connected to my iPod via an Apple 30-pin to RCA cable that allow a USB connection for charging. The A5+ speakers have one RCA and one mini plug connections along with a USB port for charging. The difference between Apple lo...
MULTI-CH SACD'S on 2CH SOUND STRANGE?
I have a Pioneer Elite player and I don't think I have ever noticed this and I tend to listen to mostly classical.
Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone SACD
Once again I did a Redbook to SACD comparison and it's very difficult to distinguish any difference. I am certain that the volume level on the Redbook is slightly higher which is known to trick the ear into preferring that sound. It matters little ...
