Any experience with Thrax as a preamp?
Had an opportunity recently to listen to the Thrax Dionysos in our system for a couple wks.  Brought beautiful crystalline clarity in upper frequencies, very fast transient responses throughout.  Nice boost/balance to mid-bass frequencies.  Defini...
Any experience with Thrax as a preamp?
Hello Bob,Thanks very much for your response.  You can find our system here:  (https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/1518).  The pics haven't been updated, but the component list is current.  With the recent acquisition of Merrill's Veritas (class ...
Any experience with Thrax as a preamp?
I realize this thread is a bit old, but came across while perusing discussions on Thrax Dionysios.  Also very interested, and curious if you ever had the opportunity to audition?  If so, what were your impressions?
Audioengine Speakers Screaming At Me
Thanks, Oregonpapa.  I'm definitely in contact with Audioengine, and hoping to get a response soon.
Audioengine Speakers Screaming At Me
I should add that these are approx. 3 yrs old, always left on, and have never been overdriven.
NAT Symmetrical + Merrill Veritas
Thanks, Mitch2.  Yes, a bit tricky trying to find an NAT audition piece, as I know of only two distributors/dealers in the States, and doubtful they'd be willing to do so.  It is for the same comparative sonic traits you mention that I felt the co...
Hi Fi Zetta
Too coincidental not to be one in the same.  I called them on it after noticing the pics used were ripped from an Audiogon ad dated March 6, 2012.  Asked for verification and original pics - never heard back.  Anyone checking this site out, keep a...
Hi Fi Zetta
Just tossing back up to see if anyone's familiar or done business with this site.
Hi Fi Zetta
I whole-heartedly agree and have never bought audio out of the country.  I just came across a piece they listed that was of interest at a great $, had never heard of them, but the site looked legit and professional history.   Probably too good to ...
NAT se2se
Thank you, Charles.  I'd read a few of his posts concerning the se2se, and in fact emailed an inquiry to him yesterday.  Will look forward to his thoughts when he has a moment.
NAT se2se
Hello Charles,  Actually, have not yet had the opportunity to hear in my system.  I have a colleague (lives a few hrs away) who will be teaching overseas for a couple months, at which time I'll be babysitting his!  He has the older version w/ the ...
Hegel H30 vs Merrill Veritas
Completely agree, nonoise.  I'm not biased towards its point of origin, only in that its design and objectives compliment my own as a listener. Case in point:  NAT Audio, designed and created in Serbia, produces a tremendous line of SET and push/p...
Review: The Merrill Audio Veritas Monoblocks
Ah yes, Guido.  Your name I know well as a respected source of information and insight, partic. as concerns JR and Esoteric, the latter I referenced often in prep for our upgrade to an Esoteric K-01 from an X-03se.  Your PF review was an early int...
Review: The Merrill Audio Veritas Monoblocks
hfl - Thank you for a tremendously well-articulated review, albeit, I seem to be a bit late to this party!  I am currently seeking an upgrade to our 12 yr Simaudio W-5, and the goal is very much like your own as-stated above.  As professional musi...
Pass X250.8 vs Merrill Veritas vs Rowland Continuum S2 - Experiences?
Thank you for your perspective, rhanson.  Aside from cost, was there a particular reason you went with a JR integrated vs separates?  How would you assess your Veritas audition at low amplitude listening?
