EAR ACUTE DRIVE 4 +DAC 4 I am looking for comments/feedback as well. I have the same questions as you do.
All else being equal............................. I have not heard the Krell, but I did have the Hegel H300 on loan to demo. It was quite nice sounding, but VERY bass heavy (I tried it on both my systems).I think some other good suggestions have been made here. Vitus, Dart, Aesthetix, etc.FWIW - ...
Best Integrated, period. Calvinj - your responses were bang on. Well said. Since moving away from a major city to a smaller town, I've really missed having local dealers to work with. Not having a local dealer has really handcuffed me. I now have to buy & try....no mo...
Devore or Harbeths to replace my ESL63s? Having heard all three of your finalists, I would definitely go with the Harbeth 30.1's. They sound terrific with either tubes or solid state. They are extremely musical with an overall wonderful warm tone. And, I find that whenever I'm listening ...
Comparing the Pass Labs XA30.5 to the XA 30.8 Busaganashi - admittedly, that is a strange combination. I demoed a pair of Pass XA100.5's with an ARC REF5SE. An ARC preamp with the 30.5 might be something to consider and give you the sound you so desire. Your dealer might also be right about t...

Best Integrated, period. In other words, no.I have heard the Audio Note, Vitus and own the NuVista 800. The Audio Note has limited application due to its limited power and exorbitant price. The Vitus is excellent and my second favorite, but again, a little more power woul...
Best Integrated, period. Have you heard it?
Best Integrated, period. Musical Fidelity NuVista 800. I ended up buying it too.
Comparing the Pass Labs XA30.5 to the XA 30.8 Erndog - I was only able to compare with 100.8's and to be honest, they are the whole reason I went back to Pass after a short diversion away. I really liked them. I had sold my .5's and moved on to other amps. A friend insisted on loaning me his ...
Comparing the Pass Labs XA30.5 to the XA 30.8 Great to see all the happy Pass owners. Nelson Pass truly is a genius. I've been following this thread with interest. Having owned the 60.5's, 160.5's and demoed the 100.8's in my system extensively. The .5, to me, is warmer sounding. Very smooth,...
Does JBL get a bad rap? I recently heard the JBL K2 9900's at the TAVES show and LOVED them. GREAT, big, natural sound.
Hegel H30 owners I have paired my Hegel H30 with a VAC preamp and now a Luxman 600 preamp I picked up here on audiogon. I prefer the Luxman preamp with the H30, but miss the built in phono stage in the VAC. The Luxman just seems to work really well as a good sonic...
RMAF 2014 Observations "Philb7777 - But the girls were easily 'best of show' in front of the Polymer room. After you went inside it was a letdown though."Agreed!!Larry - if you liked the speakers, great...but I was with a large group and not one person said they were im... |
