how much current is enough?
another simmilar question...so if the mani-2's (which i dont as yet own...but am considering) are 81 db sensitive...that means thatthey will play 81 db with 1 watt, 84 with 2, 87 with 4 etc... that means that to get to the 110db...which there spec...

I remember reading a rewview ofa wilson speaker a while ago..the reviewer mentioned that the current watt/puppy 7 was vastly better in every way (except obviously bass extension) than the original grand slamm

the other system is in a completely different house...and very different...bryston 7b amps, sonic frontiers pre amp. arcam alpha 9 cd playerthe sound is loud enough that i can notice it from my listening position 9 feet awaywhen the problem occure...

its emanating from the speaker itself...but it was suggested to me that mabey if the spikes on the speaker plinth arnt tightened enough or the binding posts, they could start a resonance in the tweeter and that could be the problem...does this mak...

the cd's are fine on another systemmy hearing i believe is fine..im only 24 years old, and dont listen at loud volume levels...75db averageive tried the speakers hooked up to a completely different system... and the problem persists...so its defin...

I have what i believe is a similar problem...i notice it only on piano music, it sounds like the tweater of my left speaker is distorting, simmilar in sound to when a speaker clips, only not nearly as loud, but audible from my listening location.....

Can't answer your question directly, but i remember reading somewhere that all the speakers used to broadcast the Molson Indy in Toronto a couple years ago were all run off a single crown amp...800watts i think, with a huge damping factor...also t...
