Amplifier Hum - A Problem Solved
Psag, I agree. But, in my system, DC offset was eliminated when I installed dedicated lines and RFI was eliminated when I installed Verizon FIOSS. Apparently, my outside lines must be fairly clean. Installing dedicated lines and FIOSS resulted in ...
Amplifier Hum - A Problem Solved
Dedicated lines for your audio equipment would eliminate line noise from lights and other appliances. Another annoying source of hum is from cable T.V. outlets used with home theater equipment (RFI). I have been able to eliminate RFI from my TV ca...
Krell Duo 300 compared to Evo 302e or 402e?
Audiolabyrinth,Please tell us, what Krell amps have you owned or listened to that are so much better than those listed by Ajpk? The Krell Evo 302E is a very good amp. Not quite as good as their Evo E series mono blocks, but still excellent.
Sadly missed manufacturers
DTC, Yes, I meant KLH, thanks.
Sadly missed manufacturers
Advent loudspeakers, KLS, Acoustic research (AR), all here companies were created by Henry Kloss. The 'real' Mark Levinson (before bought out by Harmon Kardon), SAE, EAD, Audiolab (tuners), Nakamichi (high end reel to reel tape decks), to name a few.
LOUSY SOUND AT LIVE CONCERTS
Most people in the audience don't seem to mind that the music/sound is very distorted. I think most people are completely unaware of the poor acoustics. My son says, in jest, that I have ruined it for him. When he goes to concerts with friends and...
Krell KAV 500 in bridge mode
I have owned and enjoyed lots of Krell equipment over the past 10-15 years. My advice: Sell your KAV 500 and buy a 402E or better yet, buy two 400e's. Both options will sound better than bridged KAV 500's.
Esoteric K01: What are the best settings for CD?
Flashunlock, Jon2020You guys are correct, the K01 sounds great even without break-in. On the other hand, it is built like a tank, it would be pretty tough to wear it out.
What is the best subwoofer you have ever heard?
IBo1972I am talking about use for home theater, not music. I am looking for a sub that has impressive visceral power and punch. Also, a sub that is fast, detailed, low and accurate. A sub that can pressurize a room without distortion. A sub that c...
Krell Foundation
I have not listened to the Krell Foundation, but I have owned a Krell 707 for several years. The 707 is a fantastic processor, great for music using the pre-amp section and amazing for movies. If the Foundation performance is similar to the 707, y...
Krell 302 v 302e
Get the 302e.
Esoteric K01: What are the best settings for CD?
Audiolabyrinth,The break-in and settings are tweaks. This is a great sounding player in any setting. It sounds great without warm up, but improves with warm up. I'm sure your amps improve with warm up as well.
Esoteric K01: What are the best settings for CD?
PERSPECTIVE: I owned the Esoteric X01D2 for several years before replacing it with the K01. I owned a Krell cd/sacd player (top of the line, I can't remember which model) prior to the X01D2. The X01D2 sounds much better than the Krell right out of...
802 diamonds with class d amp
The B&W 802 Diamonds sounds great with Krell amps, especially 600E.
Wadia S7i vs Esoteric K-01/K-03 vs MSB
I have not listened to the MSB, but I have owned the Esoteric K01 since its release, and it is fantastic both with CD and SACD.. My previous player was an Esoteric X01D2, the K01 blows it away, it's not even close.
