Solving the "complex music problem"?
resolving source + muddy amp = audio that is less detailed resolving source + transparent amp = audio that sounds realistic resolving source + transparent amp + resolving transducer (s)= audio nirvana   In terms of importance, it goes like thi...

Weird Luxman/Exposure remote interactions
okay @cleeds lol
Weird Luxman/Exposure remote interactions
I’ve had the same thing happen with other electronics in the past. What you’re describing is a close match in carrier radio operating frequency between components. The bandwith is in MHz, so the frequency that corresponds to one device vs the oth...
Hey RICH Audiophiles
@freediver The part about horrible listening conditions at dealers is mostly true. I understand what you’re trying to say, but to be honest, you don’t need a very resolving/high-end/or even spot-on accurate system to enjoy music on...unless you...
You know when you are dealing with a BS company....
@kraftwerkturbo  https://www.kenrockwell.com/audio/audiophile.htm Not all, but some fit Ken's definition of "audiophile." I'm not naming anyone, but I've met a lot of audiophiles who truly do believe the most darnedestly stupid things about audi...
You know when you are dealing with a BS company....
@jerryg123 A: No, they normally use high-purity copper wire that is tin-plated, which also protects against corrosion. Sometimes they use silver solder as well. Notice the use of the word "normally." I wasn’t saying they never use silver wire o...
You know when you are dealing with a BS company....
@jerryg123  well Canare, Belden, and Amphenol are all audio pro audio cable brands...so already widely used.  as for the others, sure. I bet more folks will buy them.
Speakers with deep/powerful bass
@mofojo  Cheers to that.  I used to have a pair of Cerwin Vegas. Old Fisher Audio amplifier + CD player. It was nice...a big, open, warm sounding system. It couldn't convince me that what I was hearing was real, but did a nice job of filling up ...
You know when you are dealing with a BS company....
@kraftwerkturbo How do you figure out "spacial divergence?" How do you figure out your *quoted* percentage of a 12%-16% improvement? And why should I sell them? They work just fine. "I still need to find a suitable cable for my small office, ...
You know when you are dealing with a BS company....
@bigtwin I’ve had people ask me the same thing...how much do your speaker cables cost? I tell them...$40. Just mil-spec silver wire with good insulation. 2 sets of 2 for my speakers. 3 feet each at 12 AWG. Because it’s military specified, the ...
Room treatment ideas for annoying external noises
@mihorn  That is true, but the SPL would still be higher/sub-optimal. Playing over loud noise just means louder. Not better. @ghdprentice  Well the sound-proofing doesn't need to be expensive. Upgrading can happen along the way.
Balanced Inputs
What @cleeds said. ✔ unbalanced interconnects may pick up noise (such as RFI) in your environment with long runs.  Balanced interconnects are mostly immune to this, but rule of thumb is to keep cables short if possible. Only need to be as long a...
Room treatment ideas for annoying external noises
I used to have the same problem. Too much external noise. 1) Look in to noise reduction coefficient materials (such as panels, fabric blinds, ) and how best to apply them on walls or around the areas where the most noise is present. Higher rating...
