"When Records Ruled The World"...BBC Documentary
Great Documentary. Well worth the time to watch it. Some classic footage from an era that I grew up in. Even had my Linn Sondek LP12 in it. Every vinyl lover and rock 'n' roll fan should check this out.
Anyone ever hear NTT Audio Lab speakers
Yes. At C.E.S. 2012 at the Venetian. Can't recall which model they had on demo but they sounded absolutely stunning being driven by Pass Labs amps and Esoteric digital. The bass was astounding considering the set up was in a regular sized hotel ro...
Audiophile 'Attitude'
Weinhart Designs in Bel Air, California (that's right next door to Beverly Hills) takes the cake when it comes to Eliteist, condescending customer service. The guy used to own Ambrosia Audio years ago, but changed the name to his own namesake at s...
Audio shops, manufacturers LP shops etc. in OC
Fred Kat of Katli Audio in Chino Hills. Wonderful guy. Friendly. Honest. Carries all the good stuff. JM Lab/Focal, MBL, Accuphase, Usher, Cardas, and the list goes on. I purchased a pair of MBL 101e Mk2's from him a few years ago. Best customer se...
Don't read you'll be sorry
Dude, just look at the way you talk to people! Look at the manner in which you have just responded to my post! One resounding theme stands out...you came off like a fool, and now everybody is ripping your butt for it. Truth stings a bit doesn't it...
Don't read you'll be sorry
Hey Tycobb, judging from all the responses to your post so far, might it have been a better idea to approach your topic with less of a brash, know-it-all slant?? Nobody likes to be lectured to. You are certianly NOT the last word when it comes to ...
R.I.P Jon Lord
One of the best "rock" keyboardists ever. Loved the guy. Whip smart and well spoken too. He rates right up there with the likes of Rick Wakeman (Yes), Keith Emerson (E.L.P.), and countless other Prog. Rock keyboard players. Too many to mention in ...
Needed parts for a Krell KAS2
Ditto what Mgattmch says. Steve is a great guy, knows pretty much everything about Krell because he ran their service dept. for 20 years (or some insane length of time). The dude is a wealth of knowlege and has no problem sharing it...in great det...
Linn Sondek is Dead - Looking for Service
I realize you are on the East Coast, and you've already got a few members (Mofimadness and Theo) who have given you a source in Fort Collins Colorado, but here's my 2 cents worth. I live out in California....(yes I know it's further away from you ...
How long daes it take your gear to warm up?
Oh yeah! Go through that stuff we do. I find my system sounds its best after being on for at least 3 to 4 hours, and really liquid and flowing when it's been on for about 8 hours and the amps are as hot as the core of the sun.I have solid state B....
sleeper small subs stereo application
I own 3 of them. The STF1 is a decent little sub considering it's super low price point, (if memory serves correct I think i gave around $200 for each of them.) They do fairly well in a smaller room but don't be expecting much DEEP bass from them....
Duped again
Hi Elizabeth. You described it perfectly....searching for the "HOLY GRAIL" is so much of an obsession with all of us music enthusiests and collectors. Does not make any sense really, but why then do we buy $2000 power cords, $70 fuses, and $20,000...
Linn lp12
Where are you? I live in California. I too am a Linn LP12 owner. Had the same problem. Had the 'table completely gone thru, (motor, power supply, bearings, new cartridge, new tonearm cable, new TRAMPOLIN suspension, belt, etc., etc.) My issues had...
Long interconnect cables
No issues at all, especially if you run balanced cables (XLR connectors). I have done it that way for over 10 years and I am very pleased with the result. My room is set up the same way as what you are planning to do, front end audio gear in a cab...
Oppo 83 SE having trouble with cd mat on blu-ray
Merry Christmas to all you fellow Audiogoners.. Thanks Mds for clarifying the Theta/Oppo thing. I had been under the impression, and told by several Audiophile (expert-wanna-be?) friends that later Theta transport designs were modified Oppo transp...
