MIT Digital + coaxial cable - why the switches?
Hi thanks! Regards M.
Tonearm/Cartridge pairing.
Hi, I don’t know what in my previous posts suggested that I have so little experience of tuning a cartridge. I apologize if I conveyed an impression of partial inability.. My original question was if arm and cartridge looked compatible from a sta...
Tonearm/Cartridge pairing.
@lewm    I am 69 and had my first 'serious' turntable in 1975. There surely is something I still have to learn, but it's not to become a vinyl nut, spending my days measuring, balancing, testing, weighing, comparing... spending.   Thanks for you...
Tonearm/Cartridge pairing.
The korfaudio.com/calculator showed that my arm/shell/cart system works well within the safe rage. Listening to a couple more records was satisfying. It's probably a worn/dirty LP issue. I stay with a feeling that the RP220 tonearm on the P2 track...

Thanks, I have an aftermarket head shell which looks well done and rather the same mass of the original one. The wires look decent enough and of sufficient gauge. M.

Thanks, I’ll try less anti-skate but the cart is set at 2 g as requested. The website linked to is interesting, thanks. According to it the cart/arm system should work well. M
Tonearm/Cartridge pairing.
Hi, I moved the cart from a rega P2 ( which had minor, inherent issues with pitch) to a good, s/h SL-1510, that hasn’t. Some old records, though, that the RB220 tone arm tracked well, sound very bad on the Technics. Being in doubt as to what can...
Tonearm/Cartridge pairing.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I think my tonearm is operating correctly - tracking force at 2 gr (digital scale) and anti-skate at a little more than 1.5. A test record would be a good idea, I'll look for one. While I don't intend to jump on the comp...
Klipsch Heresy Is compared to IIIs. Thanks for opinions.
Bill, thanks. My IIIs were much better than I ever suspected by just reading and listening to hearsay. Is seem to be priced according to status and age also, IIIs are found as NOS at acceptable prices. Max
Klipsch Heresy Is compared to IIIs. Thanks for opinions.
Thanks. Mine didn't sound too bright at all, and our living room doesn't favor brightness. I am very tempted to buy these Is anyway. Regards Max
Bow Technologies Amplifier's XLR inputs - jackpot question, help needed thanks.
Thanks. I've had a reply to my first question from the current owner of the Bow brand, who is also the man behind PrimaLuna. As for the rest, I suspected as much; considering that pin2=hot is the current wiring in EU, I'll stick to that option. ...
Speaker impedance patterns - how to read them?
Hi,thanks. I'm reaching the point where knowledge is not enough to solve problems but is enough to create some...I can add a pair of Klipsch Heresy IIIs to the system and I think that'll be the answer. Conceptually contemporary. From this point on...
Speaker impedance patterns - how to read them?
Hi all, thanks very much for the several interesting and useful replies. And for the kind welcome, I am new to this forum.I've bookmarked a few links and will read the pages carefully; on the other hand, I am well aware of what some, like tablejock...
Speaker impedance patterns - how to read them?
clearthinker, thanks, those are the criteria I am currently considering of importance; as for the Asperger affair, I am always amazed at how people feel entitled to throw judgments and epithets into the discussion because they are safe this side of...
Speaker impedance patterns - how to read them?
millercarbon, are you talking about me? Because if it's so, the discussion ends here.I shouldn't even have started it. The point of abuse has been reached soon..And as far as you are concerned, the late Maurice Chevalier is reported to have said: M...
