You wouldn t believe it s good, but...
Ooops! One you might not believe is good but it is..Hmmm. I give my vote to a group called Naturally Seven. They are an Acappella Group that makes instrumental sounds with their mouths while singing multi-part harmonies. Track#10 is my favorite on...
You wouldn t believe it s good, but...
It's not a new CD but I just bought it and I wouldn't consider it to be hard to believe it;s good but Cassandra Wilson's New Moon Daughter is really good. The warm lush sounds of this womans voice is infectious to say the least. This particular al...
What s your latest buy? Happy with it?
I just purchased the Sonic Frontiers Line 1. I've previously owned the Anthem 2PL and liked the overall sound but was curious to hear the Line 1 and am glad I did. The sound is neutral meaning no real character just there sort of, with a slight to...
How to have great HT and 2-CH Stereo
Hi Patrick. I would only try this if I had a pre amp with the HT Loop and here's why. The ease and sense of security when you are changing inputs or in this case, switching to a movie will be lost when having to pre adjust your recievers volume wi...
Tubes vs Solid State
I second the tube top end and the solid state bottom end configuration. My first love is Jazz but I do listen to R&B and some CHOICE urban flavor and tubes generally just don't cut it on music mixed to be dynamic, fast and played loudly.
SACD Dominates Recommended List
I don't know about you guys but I'm in no rush to buy these first generation players. I didn't rush to buy the first generation DVD players either and don't think I missed much by not purchasing early. However, I believe that Sony-Europe is releas...
Tribute to Sarah Vaughn
I share the same thoughts about Sarah Vaughn as you do Kev. It sounds to me like you appreciate improvisational singers who can touch you over a wide tonal range without sounding like they are trying to hard or sounding unnatural. I have four of D...
The partner or wife factor
Very Funny Detlof!! I've never heard the term "ElectroSmog" before. My wife has finally come to understand that audio is a very big part of my makeup and serves as a balancing ingredient to my overall mood. Although she doesn't share the same enth...
Best female vocals on CD
TSK TSK TSK!! SHAME SHAME SHAME!! How can you all forget the very talented and active Dianne Reeves? Her recent live album was nominated for a grammy and to mention a few of my favorites like My Valentine on the Palo Alto Sessions album. Also, the...

Hi Kev. How about Birdsong as a cable name?
Is B K ref 30 and 7250 amp good?
Hi Pug. I've heard good things about the B&K products for HomeTheater and if you want more information got to ecoustics.com and you'll find a collection of reviews (proffesional and personal) on most equipment available. When you get there, ju...
inexpensive hdcd player or dac
However, if you are still looking for an inexpensive DAC with HDCD capabilites, look at the MSB Link DAC. Although I agree with the previous posts the Link DAC is the only inexpensive DAC that I know of that is capable of playing HDCD.
CDP suggestions for bright system?
I tend to think that neutrality is relative to one's experience and preference. There are hundred's of people who swear that their $500.00 receiver and $200.00 CD player with stock cables are the ultimate in clarity and neutrality but who am I to ...
CDP suggestions for bright system?
Hi Widner. IMO you have two components in your system that tend to be a bit lean and have a reputation for being a little bright and analytical sounding. This is not to say that your equipment is not of high quality or what have you but I've owned...
