New Beatles Box Sets
I don't have the second edition, but the first bunch of Capitol is terrible. I can't sit through one CD at a time, more like 5-10 minutes at the most. Extremely bright, forward, shouty and metallic sounding. A complete waste of money. I would not ...
HD Sattelite Reciever and analog preamp
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I have MvIntosh C-45 Multichannel preamp with two sets of multichannel inputs. One I'm using for DVD/SACD/DVD-Audio and will use the second set with HD satellite reciever.
HD Sattelite Reciever and analog preamp

Multi channel preamps
Jeffreybehr, What TAS issue are you referring to?I'm interested in that preamp myself, and I talked briefly with Mr.Johnson at CES about it, but it wasn't playing at the time.BTW, I have McIntosh C-45 in my system.
McIntosh C45 question
McIntosh does not have a HT pass through, but you can use tape loop input to do the same, only thing you'll need to do is to keep C-45 volume control in predetermined position and to use Rotel's to adjust your volume when watching movies. But here ...

Fishwater,Funny you should say that- planning to sell BAT in favor of some SS amp.I have the same speakers and just recently sold Theta Digital Dreadnaught II, thinking of BAT as one of the options to replace it.Could you please share, what is it ...
Do I want a sub with VR-4jr's?
Robm321 "It will cost you a lot to hear the last 5Hz in the audible range"VR-4jr specs claim output at 28Hz, you'd be surprized to see the actual freq. response curve of the main speakers as measured by Velodyne's microphone. It's far from the cla...

Do I want a sub with VR-4jr's?
Yes, you do want it. I have been using Velodyne DD-15 with my VR-4jr's and the sub addition made a very significant difference for 2-ch music, and even more significant for HT.Velodyne DD series is very easy to integrate with any speakers b.c of i...

Air space for McIntosh MC-275
The shelf above it is not my main concern, b.c. the amp does not run all that hot. Amp overheating and tubes longevity is what concerns me more.
