Atma-Sphere S-30 MK3 If I may to offer a differrent perspective. This discussion sounds utterly familiar to one , that took place in the infamous "Preamp deal of the century" Supratek thread, regarding "glare", that some Supratek owners (myself included) heard in very...
Von Schweikert VR4 SR II speaker spikes I'd second Sistrum- significant improvement over Audiopoints.
Is this the biggest HT system ever? Thanks Kal,How did it sound?
Is this the biggest HT system ever? That's what I'm talking about. It looks like a McIntosh showcase to me, not a real system.Just a logistics of connecting all the components would be a nightmare. How many preamps/processors would one need to connect 35 amps, and how would that work...
Is this the biggest HT system ever? Kal,I tried to look very hard, but couldn't see a single cable connected to power amps, and the speakers binding posts are clearly visible on the picture taken from above.
Using platforms / shelves under floorstanders? Worldcup,Carpet-piercing cones ( Mapleshade, Audiopoints by Starsound Tech.)It's imperative spikes are coupled to the floor under the carpet.
Is this the biggest HT system ever? Do you see any cables???
Using platforms / shelves under floorstanders? In my trials, I've found, that maple under the speakers pretty much kills the sound. Sistrum SP-101 is so much better. With time, I'm going to get rid of the maple in my system alltogether.
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable Tvad,Yes, that's the one- it's not anything new stylistically, but they do sound "fresh" in a sense of attitude and lack of commercialism. Very spontaneous and honest and not calculated, as opposed to Judas Priest "Nostradamus", and IMHO Dream The...
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable Zigonht,Would you like to give a few examples maybe? I'd like to hear " artists going beyond the bounds of the norm. Going further outside the box than the last guy to create sounds that have not been explored"Go4vinyl,I do understand the genre, I...
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable OK, I'd give you that- they are not all alike, but the limitations of the genre do limit the range of the musical ideas to be expressed by an artist.
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable What I meant to say is this- to me music is music, no matter the genre, hence I do apply the same standards to everyone. Classic rock, metal, hard rock, "big-hair rock", grange, punk rock- all these "classifications" sound a tad artificial to me. ...
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable I don't think metal bands really have to adapt much lower standards of sound reproduction, just because "they are metal". That's like saying- metal fans must suffer listening to their favorite music (it's plenty of suffering even without the artro...
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable Just came home from Jethro Tull 40 Anniversary Tour show-that's how every event should sound like in terms of sound quality. Performance was absolutely electrifying.
Good Time to be a metal fan with a turntable Tvad,I agree, I saw them in Philadelphia around 1997- great sound. This year Iron Maiden- HORRIBLE. |
