Tandberg TD20A. I need a reputable repair shop. I had a change of heart and bought a one owner Akai GX747 off of eBay Sunday morning. It doesn't have as much as a flea bite on it and looks like it came out of an 80's time capsule.I think I'm going to let the Tandberg go. I've got way too much g...
Outdoor speakers with solid bass Niles OS25's are what I have. There mounted under the soffit in two corners and the bass is VERY good for outdoor speakers.I personally haven't heard an outdoor to match'em.

How long can Magnepan speaker last? I bought (I'm the second owner) a pair of MG 1.5's as a second rig/backup pair. They were manufactured in 1994 and delivered it seems about mid-year of that year. They sound and operate perfect without any problems whatsoever.I personally do not th...
6L6 tube? I had a tri-tube modded Mesa Baron for a while and tried all sorts of tubes. I ended up liking the Svetlana 6L6GC's best in that amp. I got better bass & midrange (IMO) from the Svet 6L6 than any EL34 or 5881 that I tried. And it was quite a few.
Recommended SS AMP for under 1,000 Read on... I agree with Aslater. Aragon 4004, MKII if you can find one. I have a couple around here just for backup. Rated at 200w/8ohm and 400w/4ohm. A dual mono design that doubles down and should be available for under $800 used. Best bang for the buck.
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners. Way to go, Glreno.I knew you were a stand-up guy when we did business together. It's a shame that you felt compelled to justify your statements to whatshisname in this thread.I wouldn't have wasted the time or bandwidth.Best regards, March
SF Owners - worthwhile to upgrade a Line 1 to SE? I don't suspect that the changes in the internal wiring (which are VERY short paths) makes much of a difference re: 1 vs. 1 SE. But the tubes will make an extrodinary difference. Look for some Seimens 7308's or Brimars as suggested above. Put them...

Cary SLI-80 Signature: 6550/KT88 shootout Gthirteen,I agree with Intune. I'd try some 7308 Siemens and early 50's RCA 6SN7.That will do more for the soundstage, bass tightening and extension than anything you could do with the power tubes. Although I did have the above combo with Svet 88'...
