Which speakers will fill 5,000 cubic ft coherently they easily fill my room ;) The soundstage is as wide and tall as appropriate for the music. I once had some Audiostatic electrostatics and the soundstage was TOO tall - singers were like 10' tall, heheh...
Which speakers will fill 5,000 cubic ft coherently I have mine out about 6 feet BUT since they have an adjustable 11 band bass eq and level/Q controls you can adjust for that pretty easy - soundstaging and imaging is better placed farther from the wall. They are rated at 87db but remember they hav...
Which speakers will fill 5,000 cubic ft coherently How about Vandersteen 5A's? Builtin sub amp - easy speaker to drive and fills my room perfectly - 23x15x14 with open back.
Any Aesthetix Calypso VS Cary SLP-05 comparison? Dopogue, what don't you like about the remote?
Any Aesthetix Calypso VS Cary SLP-05 comparison? thanks for the infos so far ;) I did get info from Glenn at Aesthetix about the upgrade. I also found out that GNSC is doing an upgrade for $2K. My Calypso is dead quiet - never had a problem with noise ;) I may just try the Cary - it would be the...
Any Aesthetix Calypso VS Cary SLP-05 comparison? thanks for the reply and I'll check out the other options. I'm VERY happy with my system now but you know - audionervosa ;) I do need balanced ins/outs and definitely want a remote and of course tubes ;)
Aesthetix Calypso Power Cord I us a Fusion Audio Enchanter - it was a VERY nice and large improvement over other cables I had used (Blacksand, Sororan etc..) - it almost made as much of an improvement as the Mullard 10M 12ax7's.
Vandersteen 5A biwire shotgun absolutely required? all good points, and thanks for the comments. The reason I ask is because Synergistic Research states this:"Shotgun Bi-Wire vs. TESLA IFT Bi-Wire:One option that does not take advantage of IFT Bi-Wire is a shotgun termination of two parallel speak...
Vandersteen 5A biwire shotgun absolutely required? Davemitchell: I have #2. I think I'll just stay with what I have and save some money. Experimenting always costs me $$ and usually the result isn't worth it ;)ThanksTony
Supratek Malbec. Any user opinions? I have the Supratek Burgundy monos. They are a 4 chassis design that Mick produced between 2003-2005. He no longer makes them due to the time required to build. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about them. The Burgundy's are 100wpc. B...
Amplifiers:A Keeper for Life. Do you know of one ? probably my Supratek Burgundy amps - 4 chassis - 100wpc 6c33 output tubes. Running in balanced mode I can bypass the 1st gain stage(6922) - transparency is amazing ;)
Power Cord Revelation I use a Fusion Audio enchanter on my Aesthetixs linestage - absolutely amazing difference for the better. They do take a bit of time to smooth out though... Eric Love(Fusion Audio) is great to work with! ;)Tony D.
Analysis Plus Oval 9 & Vandersteen 3As I'm using the Synergistic Research Tesla Accelerators on my 5A's. They aren't a true biwire as Richard recommends but they work excellently with the 5A's IMO. SR doesn't seem to think a true external biwire is necessary with their wire. YMMV ;)Tony
How many have heard the Beveridge Electrostatics? I remember hearing the 2's in high end shop in Jacksonville, FL - "Audio Etc..." It was 1984 or so. The 2's were driven by Audio Research amps and sounded absolutely fantastic. I couldn't afford them and ended up buying some Acoustat 1+1's. Someon...
