MC, you really didn't know that Boston is a band?  If not then you really missed some good Rock Music from the late 70s/early80s.
What Was Your Favorite “Game Changer” Moment?
In 1973, at the age of 19 and when I put together my first real high fidelity music system...A hit on my pipe, and then my first time to listen to Dark Side Of The Moon, on Koss Pro 4 AA headphones. From that moment on I knew that a hit from the pi...
Okay, How Important Is Speaker Break In? (Dynaudio Contour 60i)
@mathiasmingus  Glad to hear that you are now a Dynaudio convert.  I have long enjoyed the Dynaudio signature sound.  My new Contour 60i just keep sounding better and better (as you have found).  Just yesterday I went back to my new copy of Jennif...

Barrabas,  S/T 1974.  Thanks again, Slaw, for the recommendation.Led Zeppelin, 'Physical Graffiti'  My US Original Pressing from 1975.  It's in perfect condition but, still, the production quality (and thus the SQ) leaves plenty to be desired.  So...
Okay, How Important Is Speaker Break In? (Dynaudio Contour 60i)
@mathiasmingus  I tried a respectable tube amp on the speakers and though it sounded very sweet, it just didn't deliver the "slam" that I want.  Of course, amps are all very different from one another so I can't speak for what an ARC amp would do ...
Just received my new Dynaudio Contour 60i in walnut
@macnet427  The Contour 60i has an amazing soundstage and imaging.  Personally, I initially found them to be just a bit bright on the upper midrange and lower high frequency range.  After about 35 hours of run in time they became smoother.  What I...
Okay, How Important Is Speaker Break In? (Dynaudio Contour 60i)
I have had my Contour 60i speakers now for a couple of months.  I am not consistently available to play an audio session so at this point I have only about 70 hours of run in time on them.  I found them to be a bit bright, initially.  After about ...

I had a Beogram in the garage.  Packed up like new in the original carton.  Sold it last year.  Put the money toward a Lyra Delos cartridge.  Made much more sense then hanging on to the Beogram (in its carton, in the rafters).
McIntosh vs Accuphase?
To this day I regret selling my stack of Accuphase to my nephew.  I have a wonderful system now.  It really sounds fantastic and I am satisfied in every way.  My Accuphase stack was from the late 1970s and consisted of a T-100 tuner, C-200 preamp,...

Yep, the cost of a quality record is certainly more than not long ago.  However, many (but unfortunately not all) are just fantastic sounding.  The way I (have to) look at it is this.  I eat good food and it costs a good amount of money.  If I can...

@slaw   I received the Barrabas album.  It's quite good.  Thanks for the recommendation and going the extra yard in your description.  A nice addition to my collection.  Very good SQ.@noromance  I find that if one side sounds great and the other s...

@boxer12  Congratulations to you.  I wish you well on your new venture.  I truly believe in and enjoy the merits of quality cables.  At some point I may try one of yours and have fun swapping into my system.Best to you on your product launch in 2021.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
@slaw  Similarly, I have found that my interconnect and speaker cables definitely had a change (for the better) at about 30 hours of run-in time.  I never thought of the change to be a "golden glow", as you put it.  But all other aspects you descr...

@noromance  I verified my original copy on Discogs.  They state that the first UK pressings are verified by the inside of the gatefold, right side, showing "Produced by David Gilmour".  Other pressings show "Written by Roger Waters".  My copy show...
