High Performance Audio - The End?
As much as some of us like to flatter ourselves as Super Experienced, the wisdom we have built over the years tends to be most relevant to ourselves and our tastes (and perhaps for those that share that taste). It’s not discovering The Secret Key...
the sound of massed violins in classical orchestral recordings
For me, Decca/London recordings, in general, are among the most realistic sounding and DG among the worst. i think the same and most musical afficionados i know of....

Mahgister, Ron Carter is not in your room. You have no where near the power and the wrong kind of loudspeakers to image a full size acoustic bass. The best you can do is come up with a miniature version. I cannot argue against what you just said....

Ron Carter is already in my room.... Imaging is so good the sound exist independantly of the speakers....And "liveliness" is a quality in acoustic linked to among many factors with the reverberation time and synchronisation and participate among a...

DACs should have switches (kind of like the equivalent of different RIAA curves) that compensate for different genres of music. In a room which is sound acoustically and under controls this idea is without appeal at all...Think room and forget ...

Every electronically-based room equalizer that I have ever heard does far more damage to the sound than it does good for the sound. So I agree with your strategy of altering the room, rather than the signal to give you your desired response at yo...
Miracles in Audio, by luck, by good choices,by design or by tweaking...
If you can listen music at relatively low volume with a clear distinction of tonal timbre accuracy, then, your room is very good now.....Like mine..... :)It is not the bass frequencies nor the higher frequencies that must pilot and inform the acous...

I just reach my final goal: Controlling the sonic performance of my room...Passive materials treatment being only half of the solution, active controls device(different resonators, with active diffusors playing the main role in a balanced equilibr...

What we listen to in a room are "informed waves" created by all the content and geometry of the room....There is no sound in a room that is not informed by the room, never mind the speakers....And the myth that nearfield listening gives to you per...

UPDATE : "Singing resonators" improvement...In a room the balance between reflective, absorbent and diffusive surface is the key to a good acoustic...With all modifications in my audio system and room, i had to create a new equilibrium between all...
Think fast: What would you take?
(Kids, kids, now come on. This isn’t a sandbox or Facebook. This is a classy group of audiophiles engaging in intellectual discourse) :)And there is more  than the playground to be thinking about now....

Contexts are always plural like radiating circles around any event....More larger the circle we dare to contemplate, the less vindicative we are....Scapegoating is childish....«Contexts are like suits, most choose the only one who fit them»-Grouch...

Thanks for your patience and interest.....My best to you....

I called them active because they resonate in diffusing the sound....They are also many of them connected to my Shumann generators.... I use also Helmholtz resonators....But the resonators i use most were cheap brass cap or cone of different size ...
