Preamp or Amp?
The LSi's are very detailed yet also very warm. SMOOTH is the best word I could use to describe them. Much much smoother then the B&W's, Totems and Paradigm's I've heard. Higher frequency's simply seem to float through the air.
Museatex Bitstream vs Bidat
John just emailed me, he said he's working on a brand new DAC, totally designed by himself from the ground up. No idea when he's releasing it, but he did suggest any bitstream user should wait if they are considering an upgrade to a modded Bidat.
Upgrading the Source.
I found this thread I started a long long time ago. Well Ffontan I still use the LSi9's althought they might be replaced with LSi15's or I might upgrade to a better Monitor Dynaudio 1.3SE's or Reference 3A MM De Capos...Oh and Warrenh, I upgraded ...

Upgrade from Polk Audio LSi9's
thx meisterkleefJh2os I've only heard the Mani2's but not in my own system. I didn't like them at all, hard to explain, just totally uninvolving, dry, thin, stale...hard to explain. It was being powered at the time by an older Simaudio celeste amp...
Upgrade from Polk Audio LSi9's
Hey Tim, I've been reading the dynaudio's are pretty picky on room placement, I can only manage having them roughly 18-24" away from the wall. Do they have a monitor that can breathe in this close a space?Meisterkleef:I quite disagree, I hated Pol...
Upgrade from Polk Audio LSi9's
Thanks Phasecorrect.Time916 I actually use the i-5080 which is pretty much the same amp with less voltage...what were you driving the LSi7's with? Do the Dynaudios give as sweet presentation to music as the LSi's? I'm looking for improved dynamics...
What's Audiophile CD Player?
I've never used much, tested a few players. I currently use a fully modified Museatex Bitstream with bg cap upgrades and a Museatex modified CD-D which was actually used as Mr. Wrights transport. He said he threw everything he could think of with ...
Power Bars
Hey guys, thanks for the headsup. I don't have the luxary of being able to plug my amp directly into the wall as it's a tight fit, there is a bookshelve in front of it, and IEC plug is too thick to fit behind there. So I'm going to be forced to pl...
Power Bars
I guess I'm looking for something I can plug my electronic's into that doesn't limit the current to my amp, ideally it would act as a surge guard as well. I have no idea if a Power conditioner is needed. I have lingering doubts if it would improve...
Three transport choices, which one?
http://www.museatex.com/cdd.htmLooks like the glass output was optional.
Three transport choices, which one?
I'm not sure, I haven't received the transport yet, and I use a Digital coax connection, its a Moray James one, and its a great combo.
Three transport choices, which one?
I just recently bought a Museatex CDD blind. I'm having John Wright mod the back to fit an IEC power cable. It's an older design but I was so happy with the Museatex Bitstream DAC when I auditioned it, I knew it would only be a matter of time befo...

The Last Waltz : The Band
I bought the 4 disc Rhino set today, thanks alot guys, one of the best box sets I've ever bought, and I'm only on Disk 4. Great quality very musical. It's a nice change of pace, I've noticed most of my music is hard edge. Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails,...
