Woofer sucking in and out
Cool responds. I am only using Thorens weight at the middle. Most of my LPs are used so the arm is moving up and down some times! I will have a look at rings and weights than. Thanks.
Disappointing Evening
I can think of it like religions. Don’t try to convince the non believers or you will likely lose even your friendship! I have so many friends and even families looked at me with disbelieve of the time and efforts I have spent on this hobby. It’s ...
Woofer sucking in and out
True, the degree varies with different records. As long as it is not causing damage to the speakers, I will be able to live with it!
Woofer sucking in and out
I have moved my TT to another spot at the back with some success. The movement is not as big as before. I call the manufacture and he said some movement is OK as long as it does not bottom out the woofers. I also find the movement heavier at the o...

I can rule out DC leak as there is no problem with CD playing. Thanks.
Woofer sucking in and out
It made sense as I have only moved the set up to the location next to one speaker on the side wall lately. It was between the speakers before. I thought equipment on the side is better than in the middle. I will try to move them back. I was thinki...
Herron VTSP-3A
Thanks for the reply. I tried low-gain mod and it is almost as quiet as SS so it may not be the tubes. Mine 3A is brand new only 2 weeks old! I think it goes down to power supply or a mismatch with gain input from power amp. I have same problem wi...
Cardas vs Synergistic
Yes, if you do A/B, you will hear it straight away but not always with different system. You will not be able to tell of their house sound as of speakers. I think they are more like a tone controls. Cardas will make mid bass warmer and SR cut them...
Herron VTSP-3A
No, I heard it from my seat! Spoken to Keith and he did say it has to do with gains matching with power amps. Anything below 24db is good. I tried low gain and it's quiet but that mod does not sound as lively as in High gain. My friend told me to ...
Herron VTSP-3A
I would like to input to this thread again as I have finally got my new 3A last week. I did not like the 3 but 3A is totally different! -- “Very Musical”--. The VTSP-2 is more neutral but a little lean, yet cleaner from top to bottom. 3A has more ...
Cardas vs Synergistic
I belive cables need break-in when you unplugged them for awhile as my Cardas GR sounded totally different in the bass and sound staging after 2 - 3 days and the difference is from unlistenable blown out bass to well define and tuneful bass! I can...
ARC vt100mkiii Questions?
Yes, I knew it should be 65 but as johnsonwu said, the 6550 will last longer if set lower. That is also why the technican set them to 55mv.
ProAc or Harbeths?
My encounter with the D38r was brief so I cannot give recommendation. I can only tell of my opinion. I have also listened to d38 in that room with simular gears and I think they sounded a little different. The R has much more details but may be it...
ARC vt100mkiii Questions?
Thanks guys for the reply. I was wrong about the bias was actually setted to 55! Too low. I set it to 60 and the bass seems to get better. Yes, it is rounded and not tight but full and quite musical.
