Help with Classical Music Record Labels. Are you talking vinyl? DG is very inconsistent, 1980’s digital are very poor recordings.Decca, London (Decca USA releases), Philips, EMI, RCA Red Seal, Mercury Living Presence, RCA Living Stereo, Telarc (digital releases). Columbia which was bough...
Question for those with “Golden ears”, and a frustration! (The Loudness Wars) @jafant I was editing music videos as well as MTV content in the 90's. I experienced the changeover from analogue to digital technology as well as MTV's increased dominance in the biz and in our culture. One change I saw was they started to reject...
Question for those with “Golden ears”, and a frustration! (The Loudness Wars) Forgot to mention, in the 80’s the process was the same except a 1/4" audio tape was sent to the editing house which was typically transferred to 1" videotape. So the original audio master may have been digital, but the master for MTV was analogue...
Question for those with “Golden ears”, and a frustration! (The Loudness Wars) There’s no way to know which master was used to make the music video. By 1990, a record label would use an audio production facility to transfer the track to digital videotape and send it to the editing house. This was now the master and the video...
Between a Node 2i and DAC: Does Coax cable quality really matter? Rarerace, I learned that ver.2 has improved noise reduction so I'm going to contact iFi.

Qutest + Node 2i coax issue Do you have a user manual? I assume you selected Coax 1 or Coax 2 using the INPUT button. If your input selection is correct, maybe it's the cable. You could try a RCA to RCA coax and use a BNC adapter on one end.
Question for those with “Golden ears”, and a frustration! (The Loudness Wars) No Scorpions, but I have some Japanese CDs mostly Blu-spec that are exactly as you described. They’re in my never to be played again pile.
Between a Node 2i and DAC: Does Coax cable quality really matter? rarerace, I’m curious. I’ll take a look at the website. One flaw with the 1st generation was that the unit kept falling off the Dac RCA input. Finally customer service sent me another replacement and said they were sure this one would fit.
Between a Node 2i and DAC: Does Coax cable quality really matter? I have chord Qutest so jitter not much of issue.I used iFi on older DAC and thought it was a subtle improvement.Without a LPS you don't get the full benefit of the iPurifier. I tried it both ways, the wall-wart had no balls.
Between a Node 2i and DAC: Does Coax cable quality really matter? @rareace, the iFi does improve the SQ in several ways, music has more weight, wider deeper soundstage, more dynamic. I'm also using a Swagman Labs LPS.What's the difference between iPurifier2 and the first generation?
Between a Node 2i and DAC: Does Coax cable quality really matter? Yes, you will hear a difference between cables. Nobody can say for sure if there will be an improvement. If you feel an upgrade is in order then audition other digital coax. Order from dealers who offer a trial period. I auditioned quite a few S/P...
Power amp humming - help please The cheater-plug will help troubleshoot the hum. If the hum stops when it’s plugged in then there’s a ground-loop. To review, you disconnected all audio cables from the amp and you plugged the amp into different receptacles. It’s possible they may ...

Toslink cable that isn't prone to jitter, possible? +1 @fuzztone |
