Led Zep Reissue on vinyl
I am a little leery about the digital editing so I will wait to purchaseHevac1, can you elaborate? As a former high-end analogue and digital editor, I'm curious about your statement.

We've been hearing that the LPs' sound surpasses expectations. I've ordered the vinyl, has anybody heard the Redbook CD versions? Curious to know if they are joining the "Loudness Wars."
Do you put as much effort into your Car Audio?
That's terrible, Stereo5. What a loss. And I thought I was upset when my in-dash stereo was stolen 6 times (the same car).
When to recap?
Sounds like you found an honest shop Good luck.

Caps should be replaced. Why?...it's from the 1970s and even if it was treated with kid gloves, it's time to change them. And if it was in storage, the caps may have dried out.You can look for yourself; see if any caps are leaking or dry and britt...
Room Treatment
My room is L-shaped and I'm trying to figure out if I will benefit from bass traps. What are bass traps designed to accomplish?Simply put, bass traps absorb low frequency sound waves in order to achieve a flat frequency response so the music sound...
Room Treatment
That's a good sized room; have you tried clapping your hands in the center of the room to hear how "live" it sounds? Does the bass sound tight or is it boomy? You may find that you need some absorption or diffusion panels. It's good that you've got...
Lowend Preamp on a budget.
I've seen the well respected Adcom GFP-750 for about $700. The Adcom GFP-565 isn't bad; about $350-$400...no remote.
Early MOFI vinyl formulation
Yes, Theo...in the past, "virgin vinyl" is what we looked for in a record. And you could hear the difference. These days, the buzz words are 180g, 220g. All that matters is that record is thick and heavy. If it's 180g, then it must sound better.
Led Zep Reissue on vinyl
I'm not trying to stir up trouble; everyone hears music differently and each opinion is valid, but this user review has convinced me to order the new LZ I-III.I picked up a used copy of Mothership for a song last year, mainly because I was underwh...

The 30th Anniversary of Dark Side does sound spectacular. Possibly the finest Redbook I've ever heard. All the record labels had to use the analogue tapes to create masters for the first generation of CDs in the 80s. So I assume that now they are ...
Tubes and vibration - Atma-sphere MA-1
Might try coating the pins with Deoxit to provide a tighter connection.
Led Zeppelin in Hi-rez
That's good news. Aren't HiRez tracks included in the deluxe vinyl set?

The thing I do not understand it why Page decided to put digital into the signal path, very disappointing.I take it you mean why didn't he use the original analogue tapes rather than using digital files/digital tape to create a new master. Possibl...
