Need cable to soften brightness just a little?
Yes, continue to run-in your new components. How do I take just a little of the edge off the brightness without losing the wonderful clarity I’m getting? Before changing cables, examine how well your room is treated. You may need treatments to abso...
Elvis Costello/Cancer
Yeah, the comma was in the wrong place, but I can easily ignore that. More importantly, all the best to Declan MacManus. And may Elvis continue to make great music.Hard to believe he's been going strong since the invasion of 1977.
storage question
Buy some large Desiccants to absorb moisture. Use the heavy plastic wrap that comes with a new component and place one or two large desiccants in each bag, then seal it.Find them on Ebay or Amazon. Many manufacturers use them when packing a compone...
Classical music on demand?
It seems like you won't have to buy any hardware. My advice is to see if your setup works before committing to a subscription. Try and link to one of the internet classical stations and see how well the Naim performs. If it works, then sign up for...
Classical music on demand?

Classical music on demand?
Naxos was a good place to download classical. I checked out the link provided above; is their streaming only at 128kbps?
Classical music on demand?
You would have to use a computer or other device to purchase a subscription to a streaming service and download the OS. Not sure how the Naim Unitiserve works, but it probably will link to the streaming service. Is this device wireless?Have you ev...

Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus Power Supply Question
Great article @david_ten . Thanks, I'm going to bookmark it.The SQ of any component will be improved by replacing the wall-wart with a LPS. I've been researching LPS's here on the forum and the Uptone Audio gets very high marks, too bad the price ...
Possible Upgrade
Agree that you should get a new source first. Your Carver TFM is a monster of an amp; if it's in good condition then keep it. Swapping out components can lead to an endless quest to find sonics that please you, but you'll still have the poor quali...

New Look for Audiogon hard to work with
Very difficult to find an item for sale. Unless this is changed expect to have less traffic and less transactions on this website.

Amperex bugle boy 6DJ8--nos.Yes, but which one? A fairly accurate review...https://www.audioasylum.com/scripts/d.pl?audio/faq/joes-tubes.html#6DJ8-2I’ve tried about 5 variants; they’re very different. Currently using 7308 Amperex PQ (ultra premium...
Integrated tube amplifier for large speakers
I agree, get the speakers first but keep in mind that a tube amp will be driving them. All the while,  keep checking the amps for sale on Agon and US audio mart.
Integrated tube amplifier for large speakers
The first thing that I will mention is you have a large space to fill. So, you are going to need power and most likely should section off a listening area in your loft. Those 15 ft. ceilings will make it tough to control the soundstage from your s...
