Really need some help finding a full range speaker
I don't have any personal experience with them but the last time I was able to visit a hifi dealer and listen to a number of set ups, the one speaker that left an impression on me was the ProAc D30 (powered by CJ Electronics if memory serves). Ver...

Harbeth Super HL5 plus Break-in
I’d say my experience with the 5 plus is pretty similar to the OP. I was not that impressed right out of the box. But over time, I’ve become pretty happy with them. I really can’t tell the difference between grilles on or off. And I do think they ...
Wow an old album that rocked your world
The Pretenders first record. Still holds up. Serious attitude. Deserves its place on best debut album lists. The tragic death of James Honeyman Scott seems forgotten in discussions of dead rock stars. He shines on Live at Santa Monica, which was a...
Wow an old album that rocked your world
Ann Peebles - I Can’t Stand The Rain (1974) produced by Willie Mitchell.
Do any still use an older high end tuner from the past?....
I don’t believe it fits your SOTA criteria but I’m still using my Yamaha T500. And for some reason it’s been a regular part of the rotation lately. Usually my listening leans towards physical media.
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense?
For 10K, I think I would have to seriously consider separate’s. Hope to get lucky and find some used or demo Luxman gear.
Pat Travers fans unite!!!
Makin’ Magic is a stellar LP. Still gets a regular spinning after all these years.
Looking At CD Players
I own an Oppo 105, 205 and a Bryston CDP-3. I do like the versatility of the Oppo players. I find them to be a tad on the accurate or bright side which might be to your liking. I much prefer the Bryston for red book playback.
So many great golden era DD tables out there, what do you recommend for $1000?
No idea what price you can find one for but another vote for the the Denon line up. Anything from a DP-59 up to the DP-80. I have a 35+ plus year old Denon DP-72L that still works flawlessly.
Most impressive small footprint speaker
Epos M16i. Small footprint? Check. Dimensions: 35.4" (885mm) H by 7" (175mm) W by 8.4" (210mm) D (without grille). Full Range? Pretty close. 2 1/2 way down to 20 KHz. Cost no object? Absolutely not! I’m fortunate to have the space for a number of ...
