Bose makes more than speakers... Just goes to show us experts that the majority of people are listening to the music - I admit mostly in the background or car - than to the stuff producing it.
Music to die to The soundtrack to Forrest Gump and if there is still a few moments - Norman Greebaum's Spirit in the Sky.
Why buy older digital gear? I have a krell 30i with no upgrades in one of my systems that I love listening to and its DAC is first rate for my 300 disc changer I also have hooked to it. I never think of it as old technology - just good sounding.
Is there an end.......ever? I am always looking for something new as far as unigue artists or rare finds of old artist goes. I love my collection of CD's , LPs and SACD's. I spend a great deal of my time now recording mixes of things I like because it is now hard for me to l...

Kora Hermes VS Electrocompaniet EMC-1 MK1 I may have been the one you are talkng about with regards to the EMC player being used as a transport with the Hermes tubed Dac but I did not receive an email so maybe I am not the one. The EMC is a great player but combined with the Hermes it bri...
Best CD player The Electrocompaniet player has served me well and can now be bought with the 24/192 upgrade.
Tube/Solid State Bi-Amplification It depends on your speaker and amps which will determine whether or not it is worth the expense. Your preamp I gather has only one preamp active output rather than the input you mention. You will first need a Y cable to split the signal to each am...
Martin Logan Prodigy versus the Odyssey I own the Odysseys and auditioned the Prodigy at the same time - my room is 20 by 22 and the Odysseys sound great in it. The Prodigy may fare better with a larger room - for the money the Odysseys are hard to beat. The Odysseys sounded more natura...

Any one old enough to remember? If it sounds good I would keep what you have. A new cartridge might be the first thing that would improve the sound if you are not happy . You could lose interest after going through your collection a couple of times. The Thorens 125 was a pretty ...
Best sounding CD player for 6,000. There are a lot of good choices here. I use the Electrocompaniet player with a Kora Hermes tube DAC. Together they can be bought for under your budget. The EC is a top loader with less moving parts and is a great stand alone but an even better tra...
Genesis Time Lens improvement? From what I remember many of the Lens had a rather loud hum to them.
McIntosh vs. Krell Comparison I have owned both and still own Mcintosh. They are two great brands but couldn't be more different. To say one is better is a matter of taste. The Macs are more natural sounding - very quiet - and these models can drive anything. The Krell sound i... |
