REL Strata III - faint crackle/pop sounds Hooked it back up after a two week rest and it works fine, now. I have the contact cleaner and will use that if it starts acting up again. Thanks again for the suggestion.
REL Strata III - faint crackle/pop sounds Excellent! Thanks much for the reply. I will let you know if it solves my issue.
REL Strata III - faint crackle/pop sounds Found this thread on a Google search. Am experiencing the exact same problem with the same Sub (Strata III).Was your problem fixed with the $100 amp board replacement? My issue appears to be isolated to the Hi-level input. Also unsure if it is rela...
AV Rant @Kr4Thank you so much for letting us know you are passing on this one.
AV Rant I'm an audiophile. I listen to music many hours every day. I love the equipment. Love the music. But it's good to hear differing opinions to keep from getting too far off the path. I disagree with much of what's in the AVRant. But I found one epis...
MC2300 vs MC2255 I'm not getting either. I tried Parasound Halo this weekend and like them better than the McIntosh. More detailed without fatigue, IMO.
Help me get the best sound under $5K in upgrades Tried Parasound Halo this weekend. I think this is a winner for me. I'm getting A21 & P5, replacing the Macs. For me, they have more detail without fatigue.

Help me get the best sound under $5K in upgrades After listening to the Parasound for several hours I'd call it lifeless. Definitely lacks the detail of the Mc2255.Pretty cool, actually. I've never heard a difference in amps before. Now I really want to find out what else is out there.
Help me get the best sound under $5K in upgrades Matt, "IMHO, It's not." What are you addressing? My question about the detail i.e. you don't think I'm imagining things?Sounds like I'll need to try out the MC352 someday.I'll see how it goes with the 1.7's. Who knows, maybe I'll go tubes and high...
Help me get the best sound under $5K in upgrades I brought home a Parasound 2250 v.2 to compare. Thoughts? It's half the price, 275Watts, stable at 2ohms. I don't have any Maggie's to try it out with, yet; just the Joseph's.Honestly, I do hear a difference vs the McIntosh. Wasn't expecting it, b...
Maggie Disappointment Guess what!? My favorite local used shop just got a set of 1.7's. I'm getting them. Some things are just meant to be.Thanks for the advice, all.
Maggie Disappointment Thank you, Zd, I understand. I'm using McIntosh MC2255, Mc Pre, and a mac mini. I THINK the Joseph's are the weak link, at this point. It's debatable, as with anything, but it's what I'm focusing on for now.
Maggie Disappointment Clio - I've heard great things about Quad's, of course, though never listened to them.I can go to $4K. I have Joseph Audio Rm22si, which I think are great. I back it up with a Rel Strata iii sub, which may be overkill, but it's fun to hear the ver...
Maggie Disappointment There is only one component I've every purchased that I didn't demo at home first (cd player). Perhaps I've simply been very lucky with my dealers up to now.I would never expect a dealer to lose money lending me a component. The speakers I wanted ... |
