Why 24/7 warm-up period on amps? Here is except from the Aleph 2 users manual:This amplifier runs hot. The heat sinks will warm up in about an hour to a temperature which will not be comfortable to touch for more than a moment or two, which is 120 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit (50 to...
Why 24/7 warm-up period on amps? Class A amplifiers dissipate maximum power at no input signal and are at best 15% to 20% efficient. I doubt Nelson Pass recommends leaving a pair of 100 watt Aleph 2's powered 24/7.
Zu Essence vs. any Emerald Physics CS series My preference would be open baffle speakers. I am not playing down the ZU speakers but there are physical reasons I would prefer open baffle speakers.
First Watt: current vs voltage The equation for Power is Voltage times Current. Audio amplifiers are power amplifiers. Speakers only care about the power delivered to their load. Amplifiers are rated in a maximum power delivered into a specific load. The amplifier only cares ab...
PASS LABS INT-150 or X-250 with X-1 I have heard both the X350 and the X350.5 and I do not think they sound as differently as everyone has been saying. I have auditioned both courtesy of members of my audio club. I do hear more detail in the X350.5 but the signature is still the sam...

Do powercords make a difference in sound? I have stated my opinion but what I find interesting is how two different audiophiles can have differing opinions on how a specific combination of component and power cord sound.

Do powercords make a difference in sound? Thank you for understanding my position. For a while it felt like I was under attack for having a different opinion when in fact I always maintained that power cords do make a difference in systems with poorly designed power supplies. The sad part...
Do powercords make a difference in sound? Firstly, I am not trying to start a war with anyone. This is my opinion and I hope you respect my opinion and I do respect yours. My whole premise is that more effort could be put into audio equipment power supplies by the manufacturers to save a ...
Do powercords make a difference in sound? I am truly sorry but I simply do not subscribe to your accessment. I mean no offense. I am sticking to my guns that properly designed power supplies do not require fancy power cords. I do not disrespect your opinion, I simply do not hold the same ...
