I have evloved to a Mcintosh 352 and it has opened up the 802's enormous potential. High Current. High power. Team this with a good tube pre-amp, and you will be very happy

I would go with whatever costs more. The golden rule in Audio is if it cost more, it sounds better. If you need extra cash to make it happen, live in a smaller house.

Best amp for B&W 802 speakers
I have just upgraded from a CJMF2500, 240 watts, to a Mcintosh 353, 350 watts. The extra power has unleashed the speakers. Deeper bass, a more musical delivery and a beautiful sound stage. My pre-amp is a CJ Premier 10 and this combo is terrific. ...

mixing tube and solid state amps
That is what I thought I would do. What is the right way to do this? Isn't just as simple as using the binding post's on my speakers? What am I missing here. What are the advantages to adding an active cross-over, over using the speakers?
