What have I missed in the last 12 years? My recent discovery is that I can now purchase a David Berning designed amplifier at significantly lower prices from Linear Tube Audio. The clear transformerless sound is addictive. I second the idea of listening to Tekton design speakers.i am lis...
16 bit is good enough..... Tony's CD (Drums & Bells) has arrived. It is very much what I remember from the NewPort show. Dynamics are off the charts. It's not really music but listenable. On one track I could really feel the bass thumping in my chest not to mention the ...
Tekton Double Impacts @charles1dad - I used my LTA preamp with my old Decware ZMA and didn't hear much difference from using the ZMA alone. It seemed the Micro ZOTL was so transparent it really didn't have much effect but when I brought home the ZOTL40 and then paired ...
Cable Choices - TEO, Cerious Tech, Amadi, Audio Sensibility, etc I have owned the clear day double shotguns and now have the Cerious Tech Graphene Extreme speaker cables. The CT cables are by far superior in every way and I'm using them with my Tekton Double Impacts. I also have the CT and Teo IC's and I have g...
Tekton Double Impacts Wow, the DI's have opened up and are sounding spectacular this evening. Still driving with Modwright Oppo 205 to 1 watt Micro ZOTL but now with NOS Tung Sol 6F8G VT99 tubes there is leap in performance from the Sylvania bad boys 6SN7's. I can't be...
Tekton Double Impacts @kdude66 - I have rolled in quite a few different tubes, right now I have NOS Amperex 12AT7's, I also like NOS Mullards. The VT99's have more gain in the Micro ZOTL. It's a very Tube friendly design when it comes to rolling.I drilled holes in the ...
Tekton Double Impacts @teajay - I can concur the 12AU7's in the Micro ZOTL work fine with a little less gain. Also i am using NOS Tung Sol VT99 with adapters replacing the 6SN7's and they sound wonderful
16 bit is good enough..... I just ordered the CD. I was in Tony's room at THE Newport show last year and there was a disc he was playing. I have never heard anything sound so real in my life. The drum kit was in the room with me. I can't even remember the model of speakers ...
Tekton Double Impacts The DI's are 2' from the front wall, about 8' to my seat and 8' apart. I have yet to experiment much with speaker placement. They do go through an interesting break-in period and change quite a bit.
Tekton Double Impacts Corelli, my room is 17' x 18' x 8.5' high and the DI's on the shorter wall but the room is almost square. I have a few diffusers and lots of bass traps.
Tekton Double Impacts The new DI's have almost 100 hours on them. I've let them run non stop over the weekend. I still want to try some different speaker positioning but in my well treated room I don't really have any problems. I couldn't wait any longer so I pulled ou...
Tekton Double Impacts My new DI's are breaking in nicely and sounding wonderful. I did get the upgrades and front grills. Does anyone know when the grills will be made available? They didn't come with the speakers. I did email Eric but haven't heard back yet. I'm guess...
Tekton Double Impacts Hi I'm Lance and I'm an audiophilaholic. My Orange DI's came in today. They sound pretty good right out of the box and from what I've read they will get better with some breakin. I have a feeling like some others have mentioned, these speakers are...
Tekton Double Impacts Bullitt, I agree with Craigl59, the Emotiva amps sound pretty good for the cost. I would also recommend a Job225 as a very good SS amp. My DI's will be here on Wednesday and I will start out using a Benchmark AHB2 direct from Modwright UDP205. I'm...
Tekton Double Impacts Excellent, standard 1/4 x 20. You can tell they're made in America. |
