No, not suitable, but would make the connection. How long will the run be, then we could make some inexpensive suggestions that would work better.ORIs this an April 1st question? :-)

Good question, I've not tried that. I'm sorry to say you will have to try it and judge for yourself. If I were to guess I'd say there is no benefit to using the slate as a layer and possibly a hindrance.

 In my opinion, never use slate the reflecting factor is extremely high and it performs poorly. Maple is a much better option.

I found the Oyaide products to be a lot of bang for the buck in a good way. You can save more dollars by purchasing the Oyaide wire and completing the project your self if you desire. I believe the end result in sound is system dependent regarding...

Jumpers - how long is long enough
I have had issues at times in the past with jumpers being too short therefore creating problems when installing them and/or removing them. With that said, in my particular situation with a variety of speakers I own 12" (30.48 cm) works very will.

No one should want one solid piece of wood because it will warp. That's why builders use amended wood etc.

I own both, 3" thick maple from Mapleshade and Butcher Block Acoustic. They are both excellent and I cannot hear a difference between the two products. I’d suggest you purchase whichever one is more pleasing to your eyes or within your price range...

Out of curosity have you tried a two prong adapter (temperaly) on each peice of equipment (one at a time) to see if you can find the culprit?
