meridian power cord upgrade
Brutus, I have tried a few inexpensive power cords ($100-$260) and the difference can be insignificant and/or hard to distinguish. When I tried others (which happened to be more expensive) I noticed significant differences. If you don't,(as Redkiw...
meridian power cord upgrade
Redkiwi- I agree 100%. Sometimes I wonder if poeple say such things to see others fly off the handle. I greatly improved the sound of my system by doing many things over the period of several years. Power cords were added last, but what a differen...
HomeGrown Audio Impressions
Greetings, I demoed Home Grown (v) Silver Audio Bullets 4.0 The Home Grown are very good (especially for the price) however I prefer the Silver Audio which do cost more but were more dimensional and allowed me to hear more detail and additional ba...
meridian power cord upgrade
Brutus, We have read about this spiral viewpoint before. All I can tell you is on my reference system I have tested four different power cords and can hear a difference with each different power cord I have demoed.
Silver Banana Plugs
For what its worth I have been doing some very careful listening tests biwired (v) single wire using silver jumpers purchased used from Silver Audio. With good jumpers its not worth my investment to purchase another complete run.
Best upgrade for the money ?
If I were you I would take my Polk speakers to a high end store and compare/contrast them to other speakers. If it's not the speakers I have had the most improvement by adding a Bel Canto Dac-1 and/or the Black Mamba (used)or EEL power cord purcha...

Valve Question?
CORRECTION; I should have said a blue glow for a fraction of a second with the stock AC cord and one/two seconds with various after market AC cords.

Interconnects for Tube amps
Hi Hpfish10, I use several pair of the Silver bullet 4.0's and one pair of the newer Hyacinth (RCA). If you have not ordered yet email me at: lakiraly@webtv.net for additional information.
Bananas vs. Spades
Swampwalker, at times I have used a duo 24K goidbananna styled speaker connector (where the speaker wire hangs streight down the back of the bananna, speaker wire is held in place by small hand screws). They can be purchased from your local audio ...
Interconnects for Tube amps
In my better system I am using Cary 2A3 mono blocks (5 watts each channel) or a Conrad Johnson Premiere 11-A (70 watts). After much trial I decieded I prefered Silver Audio interconnects. I tried Home Grown, they were good and less exspensive, how...
Bananas vs. Spades
Use bare connections and/or spades. Over the years I have found they work best!
