My system acts weird
Avialuf,Does your system sound better late in the evening or in the early morning hours when most others in your area or building are asleep? What other appliances are on the same circuit as your audio gear?
Upgrading wall outlets
Okay, I’ll take the bait. All major manufactures attempt to hold costs down to be completive. Suggesting additional purchases or modifications suggests more dollars spent for additional equipment can be counter productive to a sale. Some audiophile...

I respect your opinion regarding the “Placebo effect”, but I don’t think so. I don’t want to start an argument however for the record, (in my opinion), in blind tests that I ran with several other audiophiles, a difference could be heard using som...
Dedicated lines
Markus1299, assuming you use the same wire to extend the length of your three dedicated lines, after break-in, I don’t think you will hear a difference in sound or have any type of voltage drop..Ckoffend, I don’t know what “hospital grade cabling”...
Should I Bi-Wire or Use Jumpers?
I agree with Audiofeil. I own and have owned many different pairs of speakers however never the PSB Stratus Mini's. In my systems sometimes bi-wiring sounded better and sometimes cable jumpers sounded better. I’m sure there is a reason for that an...
Anyone tried Passive Pre's with Class D Power amps
I use a Channel Island PLC•1Passive Line Controller along with the Channel Island D200 monoblocks, or the Wyred 4 sound SX-1000 monoblocks or the Audio Zone Amp 2 monoblocks (45 watts per channel) and they all work well with my CDP, FM, or Phono.

Sometimes the world amazes me…I believe I was the first one in this thread that made mention and said I found the Pass Lab AX Series to be superior to the W4S monoblocks but out of my price range.BTW; the Channel Island D-200 is no slouch either c...
"Tube Like" SS Integrated Amps
Any Plinius Integrated (used) to be in your price range.

Mapman,Correct, class "D" amps do have a long break in time. Sometimes 500 hours or more. But worth the wait.My W4S SX-1000 monoblocks are driving my Magnepan 1.6 speakers. The sound is unbelievable. Very detailed in all areas and bass to die for.

4musica44107,Although you really have to hear the amps for yourself, here is what I think:I have owned or own the following class D amps.Bel Canto (one of the original), Audio Zone 2, Channel Island D-200, Wyred 4 Sound SX-1000.Auditioned the foll...
wyred4sound amps
Wyred 4 Sound makes excellent class D amps for their cost. They compete with other class D amplifiers that cost 2 to 3 times as much. A lot of band for the buck. One would have to spend a fortune to purchase a better class D amp.
Direct drive/rim drive/idler drive vs. belt drive?
In my opinion theory doesn’t really matter because we can debate it forever and never come up with a consensus. All that really matters is what sounds best to the listener.
Anyone with a recommendation for a monoblock?
“Wyred 4 Sound” makes several class D monoblock amps. They are some what tube like in sound with great detail, bass and sound stage. These monoblocks compete with others that cost several times more. Well worth a look at in my opinion!
swapping IC's to demo and cardas's site sdvice.
All of the above comments sound logical and possible to me. I think it just depends on what degree you are a perfectionist, what can your mind live with and how much time you are willing to spend. Some people aren’t patient enough to wait a week t...
