Interesting information from Analog Planet on Stylus Cleaner Onzow Zero Dust.
I was surprised to learn from the articles, that the DS Audio left residue also. I believe their gel is “clean room” quality + the flat surface seemed safer to use than the Zerodust. I’ve stopped using both ( for now) in favor of a brush used by ...
Liquid stylus cleaner without solvent
The new stylus cleaner articles from Michael Fremer are a real eye opener! I have used Zerodust and now the DS Audio.  I believe Michael uses Audio Intelligence. Any Miyajima fans willing to share a safe stylus cleaning recommendation? Thank y...
One big reason why brick and mortar high end audio dealers struggle.
I initially became interested in high end audio after spending time with my local dealer, listening and learning. And while today we have excellent online information available, as well as audio shows, I fear that the younger folks just getting in...

Trying to Help My Nephew With His First Venture Into High End Audio
For those still following this thread, I must say how disappointed I was when I tried to find a sub $4,000 turntable available for demo at my local brick and mortar audio dealer. Only very high end on display. Is the next generation of audiophiles...

Folks,I am now looking at a SOTA Comet V which comes with the RB330 tonearm from Rega.Tomic601 has some experience with SOTA.Which cartridge would you suggest? SOTA is promoting a Dynavector 10X5, but I just read a review that did not like the 10X...
Trying to Help My Nephew With His First Venture Into High End Audio
I agree with no romance. My thinking is that the rest of this solid state system is cold sounding, so some warmth is welcomed. Ill set the system up with with what I own, plus this little phono. We can select a cartridge that compliments the sound...

Thank you for all the great advice. I read Michael Fremer’s April 2021 review of the little Haberman phono, and contacted Jim Haberman in Hawaii. Thank you tomic601! For $1K, I think we will try this. Great suggestions on the turntable/cartridge c...
Acoustic treatment question: do you agree with Dennis Foley that $46k to $65k is required?
I was surprised by how expensive good treatments are. I went with Acoustical Systems Corp (ASC). I’m sure Acoustic Fields products are great too. To control costs, you can start by controlling base in the corners of your room, as well as the first...
HOW MUCH DO NON-AUDIO FACTORS INFLUENCE YOUR AUDIO PURCHASES?
I definitely take other things into consideration when buying gear. I’m probably in the minority, but I am willing to pay a little more because I trust the dealer for honest advice and after-the-sale service. That being said, I no longer buy brand...
Which Component Has the Greatest Affect on Low-Level Listening
I’ve had very good results at low volume, with 97db horns and about 4-5 watts (300B).
Miyajima MADAKE experience
Yup.....unfortunately I received no tools with my EMT cartridges.
Miyajima MADAKE experience
Thank you for the feedback chakster. Do you have a recommendation for a non-magnetic screwdriver? Seems like Miyajima uses phillips head screws. I see "ceramic" tools (non sparking, non magnetic) on Amazon, but quite expensive. Thank you.
Miyajima MADAKE experience
Those of you who have Miyajima cartridges, can you explain what the round metal tube (that comes with the cartridge) is used for. I assume it must have something to do with installing the screws and bolt? Also, if I install the screws with the bolt...
Are There Any Risks to Your Stylus From Using Magic Eraser
I'm conservative like EBM. If I ruin my EMT S75 cartridge, it will not be a good day. I'm going to try it anyway. If the virus is going to get us, I'll might as well go out listening to some great sounding LP's.
