Just upgraded my Integrated Amp - now here a HUM out of my LUMIN - HELP A hum you’ve got? When I installed my LUMIN s1, I heard a Chinese radio station. (I’m in Canada, so it could have been a local station.) I contacted the Asian distributor, and they were totally perplexed. Meanwhile the radio signal got louder and ...
How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing! Mahgister ... you must be on Tidal
How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing! This thread seems to be segueing toward a discussion of room treatments. Okay ... fine with me. Furniture affects the sound. If you move your furniture, that affects the sound again. How is moving it not a method of room treatment?Step one: Plac...

How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing! Back at you, Paulgardner. 4. My speaker cables are lessloss c-Marc. I think highly of them. Check their website — they are quite unique.. Their footers (Bindbreakers) are also highly effective. 5. Whether room treatments would help depends on y...
How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing! I’m in the same place you are. Ttook twenty years, but I can finally sit back and enjoy what I’ve built. Any further improvement would be minor. Which won’t stop me from trying different things, just that the days of heavy investment are over. T...
Does raising speaker cables off the floor really make a big difference? Might work, might not. Only way to know is to try. I did ,and it made no difference.i spray my cables down with anti static spray ever couple days, and that makes for cleaner sounding music. And it likely does about the same thing as raising cable...
Recommendation for an audiophile speaker cord that is not "bright"? WireWorld or C-Marc. Both are very smooth and liquid-sounding.
Looking for Suggestions for IC's I agree that Wireworld cables are superb, though my experience is limited to their ethernet cables. For the rest of my loom (signal and power) I use C-Marc cables, made by Lessloss, a Lithuanian company. They’re unshielded, very light and easy to ...
Great Qobuz streamer. Upgrade from Bluesound Node 2 LUMIN. I’m delighted with mine. Tidal with it sounds wonderful. With the LUMIN I have, a good Ethernet cable has been better than any USB I tried— almost a necesssity. . WireWorld makes Cat. 8 Ethernets these days. Look into those as well — they...
Any tweaks I'm missing? Sounds like serious overkill. A better question for you to ask is more like “what should I remove from my system to make it sound better?”I like to cook, and have 47 different spices in my cupboard, but I don.t use all of them for every recipe.....
Diving into the world of tubes...help needed! Look into the coincident technology amps — the Frankenstein MK 2 monoblocks are exceptional. If you are only running one source, look into a passive pre. they’re simpler, and simpler almost always sounds better. Cheaper than a decked out active pr...
Crazy cheapo tweaks and impressive SQ hacking I placed a teak chest (13 x 13 x 18) In front of my component rack and in between my floorstanders and filled it with books, and the improvement was immediate and very obvious. Wider deeper soundstage, smoother and more extended highs, a wonderfu...
Do I need isolation footers for my components if I'm already using an isolation rack? I don’t think it’s possible to have enough vibration control, but it’s all system specific and experimentation is necessary. There are no magic bullets. In my own system, I use a combination of granite and Rock maple sheets, roller blocks,SR 1.0’s...
Looking for inexpensive preamp Placette RVC, if you only need one input. It’s a plain and simple volume control, nothing else. And if you want balanced control, just get two Placette RVCs. |
