Power Cords/ Conditioner/Surge Protectors Someone just sent me a message about my post saying no manufactures make recommendations on power conditioning equipment. Although some may not, Moon Audio does sell power conditioning equipment and can certainly make recommendations. McIntosh d...
Power Cords/ Conditioner/Surge Protectors You shouldn’t take advice from anyone in this post and consult Moon Audio on what they recommend.
Im going to regret my cable question I only use McIntosh type audio cables. They are well designed and have the lowest resistance to flow of all cables I’ve used.
Will a high quality preamp really make a difference in sound?? Also speaker cable Lots of responses but I agree with first one from knotscott. Preamp is signal processor and very much controls sound quality. I usually make my own speaker cables but you can actually find nice cables off Amazon at reasonable prices.
Dumb question......why do you need a preamp? Simple answer is no you don’t need a preamp to play music through an amplifier. You just need volume control on the amplifier or source and you’re good to go. Preamp is exactly what its namesake implies. It’s just a signal processor between you...
Why Do ~You~ Still Play CDs? I still use and love CDs. Unlike streaming, CDs are digital music that Has not been compressed and expanded. Every time a program is compressed and expanded there are losses. I’ve experienced this several times and it’s really disturbing.

Amplifier used w/ headphones and no speakers connected, can it be damaged? Short answer is no, it won’t damage the amp. Headphones are supplied signal from a different source inside the amp. Since you have no speakers connected, there is no load on the main amp. I’m surprised you don’t have a speaker on-off control?
Which power cord should you buy first Only one thing matters to me E=IR
15 amp circuit VS. 20 amp Circuit Just saw this discussion and there are a lot of suggestions that are way overkill for your needs. I total agree with what IMPALER gave you for a good electrical suggestion to give you plenty of power for all your equipment. To help with voltage d...
Snake River Audio Power Cables - Best Unboxing I deleted my last post as OP is right. This is about unboxing cables and if it makes him happy then I’m all for it. My apologies. I’m a retire E.E. and I guess I just had to chime in and it wasn’t appropriate.
What if a high end speaker measures really badly? Then it’s simply a low end speaker at a high price!

Speaker cable length. I love chiming in on posts like this! I’m always entertained by the ludicrous responses regarding speaker cables and all the BS people have bought into and the BS put out by some guy with absolutely no clue wtf he’s talking about. It’s best to ... |
