Help me tame the brightness of my Triangles
Trelja gave great advice. I still don't know what your room is like. Hard floor or carpet. Ceiling height and composition. Windows, drapes, bookshelves. To some extent all of these features can highlight the problems your describing even in speaker...
B & W N802's Vs Revel Studios Vs. Mezzo Utopias
I think Jazzdude's analysis was very helpful. I don't fully agree with his assessment of the Studio's, but not because he is wrong, but because there are other factors, which are so important to what one hears. He pointed out that equipment matchi...

BLR may be right lamp with short or dimmer switch could definitely do this. Check the things plugged in on the same circuit and then start removing things one at a time. See if you hear the diff.
Where have the long-time regulars gone?
I am not on your list, but am diligently working at being a long time regular. I don't know much, have bought and sold a lot of stuff, and have definite absolutely right opinions on everything. I think that qualifies me for these forums.

Is there a cable box nearby? You may be getting a groud loop issue in there somewhere.
A question about cable break-in
Audio gear is like art everyone sees or hears something different in each piece. When I saw this thread I knew there would be chaos. Burnin is real. It is phyics. To what degree and with what level of equipment is anyones guess or opinion. The pro...
How to design music room?
I have a bow window, which is a big no no. I also have a fabulous view of a pond and great light. I have put systems in the basement for purity, but have opted for ambience. I really enjoy the music much more with a great view and nice light. On t...
B & W N802's Vs Revel Studios Vs. Mezzo Utopias
I am wondering why you want to make a change. The 802's are great speakers. I have heard them and while I personally chose the Revel studios, it seemed that these had somewhat similar characteristics. I am not sure if the studios are more competit...
Hubbel v Virtual Dynamics v FIM v Purist v Jena
I am really interested (tongue punctures cheek) in finding out about having a home cryo unit. The wart alternative use would be great. Kinda of a cottage industry for the neighbors as well. Good a/v and wart removal in one sitting.
ACME 15a Cryo or FIM 880 for front end????
I found LAK's remark really interesting. His threads always seem well reasoned and fair. I was wondering what the cost of having your fims cryo'd is? I have several extras I might want to try this with and a/b against the non cryo'd. I don't know ...
Proceed PMDT DVD CD transport
I have one and can't answer why they are for sales except that people willing to pay several thousand for one may be looking at other high players. There have been some problems with the software which are resolved by this time and a simple upload...
Best reasonable$ upgrade from spikes?
Lak is right dramatic doesn't mean much. Anyway thats about the best I could do in a rush. Brulee has done a very good job of describing these and is more eloquent on the subject.
the room: diffusors, absorbers, plants, books, mdf
Don't do bookshelves on the side walls it creates problems that are hard to correct. The rear is far better. Consider completely carpeting the floor with a commercial fiber pad. If its not a good floor and you can do more structural stuff consider...
Building an Audio/Video Room / Setting-Up Power
I recently completed a dedicated media room and did considerable research. I used an equi-tech dedicated balanced power panel. They have a web site and widescreen review used this system in their media setup. There are many threads you can search ...
Can anyone talk about the Levinson 40.
Anthony knows his stuff on this piece. I couldn't agree with him more. With my ear the 40 is as good as it gets. Also this thing is completely upgradable. ML has made a committment in designing the 40 not to leave its customers behind. Technically...
